Γιατί στα σιτάρι;
Επειδή δεν υπάρχει κανένα ανθρώπινο πλάσμα στα ψηλά σιτάρι, πόσο μάλλον τη νύχτα. Και αν αυτές οι παλμικές μικροκυμάνσεις είναι αρκετά ισχυρές για να σκοτώσουν ένα πουλί ή ένα σκαντζόχοιρο, θα συνέβαινε το ίδιο και με έναν άνθρωπο. Τότε, αυτές οι πειραματικές διαδικασίες, με τι σκοπό; Για να σκοτώσουν κάποτε ανθρώπους, ρίχνοντας την ευθύνη στους εξωγήινους;
Γνωρίζετε την κινεζική παροιμία: «Όταν ένας άνθρωπος δείχνει τη Σελήνη, ο σοφός κοιτάζει το άστρο και ο ηλίθιος κοιτάζει το δάχτυλο». Επ二十 χρόνια η πλειονότητα των ανθρώπων αναρωτιόταν «γιατί αυτά τα σχήματα» και μόνο λίγοι αναρωτήθηκαν πώς θα μπορούσαν να δημιουργηθούν. Το σύνολο του Μεντελμπρόιτ, το πρόσωπο στα σιτάρι και πιο πρόσφατα το στόμα του εξωγήινου, όλα αυτά δεν έχουν σημασία. Αυτό που έχει σημασία είναι αυτό που υπάρχει πίσω από αυτά και συμφωνείτε ότι είναι κάτι.
Όταν κάποιος καθορίσει τη συχνότητα του φέροντος κύματος, αυτή της διαμόρφωσης, που δρουν βέλιστα στους κόμβους του σιταριού, τι θα συμβεί; Στην οριακή περίπτωση θα μπορούσαμε ακόμη και να πουλήσουμε ανιχνευτές ευθυγραμμισμένους σε αυτόν τον τύπο συχνοτήτων. Τότε, οι αγγλοαμερικανοί στρατιωτικοί θα ρισκάρουν να συνεχίσουν «αυτές τις ενδιαφέρουσες πειραματικές διαδικασίες»; Υπόθεση που πρέπει να παρακολουθηθεί.
Επιστρέφω, μετά από αυτή την παρέκβαση, στο θέμα αυτού του φακέλου. Είναι εφικτή μια «μετεωρολογική όπλο»; Για πολύ καιρό ήμουν, εγώ επίσης, σκεπτικός. Αλλά, από τότε που ήρθε αυτή η επαφή με το πρόγραμμα HAARP και τις προεκτάσεις του, ξαναθεώρησα το ζήτημα.
Πολύ πρόσφατα ένας ακροατής στο ραδιόφωνο θύμισε αυτή την υπόθεση των «μυστηριωδών φωτεινών σχηματισμών» που παρατηρήθηκαν στη Νορβηγία (και αυτό δεν είναι πρόσφατο), φαινόμενα που είχαν κινητοποιήσει μια στρατιά ουφολόγων εξοπλισμένων με φωτογραφικές μηχανές και κάμερες. Τώρα μαθαίνουμε ότι το πρόγραμμα HAARP έχει διακλαδώσεις... σε αυτή τη χώρα. Μήπως τα κομμάτια του παζλ δεν αρχίζουν σιγά-σιγά να συναρμολογούνται; Ας αρχίσουμε με μια παρέκβαση σχετικά με τον πυρηνικό χειμώνα. Η Γη λαμβάνει στην illuminated πλευρά της ένα κιλοβάτ και μισό ενέργειας (ηλιακής) ανά τετραγωνικό μέτρο. Είναι τεράστιο. Όταν επεκτείνουμε αυτό σε περιοχές που καλύτουν εκατοντάδες χιλιόμετρα πλευρά, καταλήγουμε, με την πάροδο ωρών, ημερών, σε εξαιρετικές συσσωρευμένες ποσότητες ενέργειας. Αυτή η ενέργεια δημιουργεί τα μετεωρολογικά φαινόμενα της Γης. Δημιουργεί τους ανέμους, τις αναβάσεις. Χάρη σε αυτές, ο μολυσμένος και γεμάτος μικρόβιας αέρας που βρίσκεται κοντά στο έδαφος μεταφέρεται σε υψόμετρο και αποστειρώνεται από τις υπεριώδεις ακτίνες. Γνωρίζετε καλά ότι «ο αέρας είναι πιο υγιής, στα ψηλά βουνά». Μάλιστα εκεί έστελναν τους φυματικούς, παλιά. Η ίδια ηλιακή ενέργεια προκαλεί την εξάτμιση του νερού, και όλο τον κύκλο που ακολουθεί, με το ίδιο φαινόμενο αποστείρωσης. Φυσικά, υπάρχουν βίαια φαινόμενα, καταιγίδες, κυκλώνες, τρομπές. Σε αυτή την απλή θερμική ενέργεια που αντιστοιχεί στην πρόσληψη από τον αέρα της ηλιακής ενέργειας, αναμειγνύεται αυτή που σχετίζεται με την εξάτμιση και την συμπύκνωση του νερού (η «λανθάνουσα θερμότητα εξάτμισης» που τροφοδοτεί τους τροπικούς κυκλώνες με ενέργεια). Δεν θα κάνω εδώ ένα μάθημα μετεωρολογίας. Αλλά θα κάνουμε το αντίθετο. Ας ανατινάξουμε μερικές χιλιάδες πυρηνικές κεφαλές στο βόρειο ημισφαίριο (αυτό που θα συνέβαινε σε περίπτωση σύγκρουσης μεταξύ Ανατολής και Δύσης, πριν την κατάρρευση της ΕΣΣΔ). Μεταφορά στη υψηλή ατμόσφαιρα ενός δισεκατομμυρίου τόνων σκόνης με μέση διάμετρο ένα μικρόμετρο. Όλα αυτά υπολογίστηκαν, μελετήθηκαν στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 80 από τον φίλο μου Βλαντιμίρ Αλεξάνδροφ, που χάσε τη ζωή του στη Μαδρίτη για να αποκαλύψει αυτό που δεν ήθελαν να γνωρίζει ένας ανώφελος λαός: τους κινδύνους από αυτό που ονόμασε τον πυρηνικό χειμώνα και που χρειάστηκε δέκα χρόνια για να φτάσει στα αυτιά του κοινού.
Τότε προσπάθησα να προειδοποιήσω τους ανθρώπους. Τα μέσα ενημέρωσης έκαναν την «κουφή» (χωρίς, για όσους θυμούνται: L'Humanité!). Αβελία, κοντόφθαλμος, κώφωση του κόσμου της δημοσιογραφίας. Κανείς δεν ασχολήθηκε με τη δολοφονία αυτού του γενναίου άνδρα, στην ισπανική πρωτεύουσα, όπου απήχθη στη μέση του δρόμου μπροστά σε πόρνες που μαρτύρησαν. Μια δουλειά χωρίς λάθη. Σήμερα ο Αλεξάνδροφ πρέπει να αναπαύεται σε ένα支柱 cement pillar, κάπου στην πρωτεύουσα. Τότε ήταν μια «καυτή» υπόθεση. Ένα μέλος των μυστικών υπηρεσιών (κατά τον Γκονζάλες Μάτα, τότε συνεργάτη στο Actuel, πρώην των ισπανικών μυστικών υπηρεσιών, εργαζόμενο για το περιοδικό) δολοφονήθηκε επίσης σε ένα πάρκινγκ της πόλης για να ήθελε να ερευνήσει πολύ κοντά αυτή την εξαφάνιση. «Μην πλησιάζετε αυτό, μας είπε ο Μάτα, δαγκώνει πολύ». Αργότερα, το περιοδικό Scientific American δημοσίευσε ένα καθησυχαστικό άρθρο και ο επιστημονικός κόσμος, unanimous, συμφώνησε ότι ο Αλεξάνδροφ δραματοποίησε και ότι το πολύ θα επρόκειτο για ένα «πυρηνικό φθινόπωρο». Είναι μια νέα παρέκβαση αλλά, συγχωρέστε με, οι αναμνήσεις αναδύονται σαν φυσαλίδες από τον πυθμένα ενός βάζου. Τότε είχα επισκεφθεί τον Στεντσίκωφ, συνεργάτη του Αλεξάνδροφ, στη Μόσχα. Είχε συνεχίσει αυτές τις εργασίες και επιβεβαίωσε τις τιμές που είχαν βρει και οι δύο, δύο χρόνια νωρίτερα, για παράδειγμα μια πτώση μέσης θερμοκρασίας 25°, μια απόκρυψη του φωτός κατά παράγοντα 400 (το φως της πανσελήνου στο μεσημέρι). Έγραψα στους Αμερικανούς στέλνοντας τους τελευταίες δημοσιεύσεις του Στεντσίκωφ. Αυτοί μου απάντησαν .... ότι αγνοούσαν την ύπαρξη αυτών των εργασιών. Ψέμα. Επιστήμονες είχαν πληρωθεί από τους στρατιωτικούς για να «αποδραματοποιήσουν» αυτό το πρόβλημα του πυρηνικού χειμώνα. Δεν θα είναι η πρώτη, ούτε η τελευταία φορά που οι επιστήμονες δανείζουν χέρι στους στρατιώτες για να αποσπάσουν την προσοχή των ανθρώπων από ένα θέμα του οποίου το κοινό πρέπει να συνεχίζει να αγνοεί τις λεπτομέρειες και τα αποτελέσματα. Παρεμπιπτόντως, πέρα από τους συνεργούς επιστήμονες, υπάρχουν οι δημοσιογράφοι.
Γιατί να αναφέρουμε αυτή την υπόθεση του πυρηνικού χειμώνα σχετικά με ένα πιθανό κλιματικό όπλο; Για να illustrate ένα concept. Η μεταφορά στη stratosphere λεπών particules, σχετιζόμενη με τις plumes των πυρηνικών εκρήξεων, θα αναπτύξει σε μια εβδομάδα ένα πέταλο σε όλο το βόρειο ημισφαίριο που θα εμποδίσει την ηλιακή ενέργεια να φτάσει στην επιφάνεια του εδάφους. Αργότερα μια ατμοσφαιρική ανάμειξη θα σβήσει αυτή την κάλυψη σε όλο τον πλανήτη. Η κατάσταση δεν θα ξαναγίνει φυσιολογική παρά μετά από 18 μήνες; Γιατί; Επειδή είναι ο χρόνος που χρειάζεται ένα σωματίδιο διαμέτρου ενός μικρομέτρου για να κατέβει στην επιφάνεια του εδάφους, απλώς λόγω της τριβής του αέρα. Οι μετεωρολογικές συνέπειες είναι κολοσσιαίες. Η Γη βλέπει κατά αυτούς τους δέκα μήνες στερημένη από μια εξαιρετική ποσότητα joules. Κάντε τον υπολογισμό. Η ατμόσφαιρα γίνεται «superstable». Πράγματι, η ηλιακή ενέργεια που σταματά σε υψόμετρο θερμαίνει τη μάζα αέρα που βρίσκεται εκεί, η οποία γίνεται πιο ζεστή από αυτή που είναι σε επαφή με το έδαφος. Άρα: περισσότερες αναβάσεις, περισσότερη αποστείρωση του αέρα σε συνεχές από τις UV. Η επιφάνεια του εδάφους μετατρέπεται σε broth culture. Αλλά δεν θα απαριθμήσουμε τα κακά που σχετίζονται με τον πυρηνικό χειμώνα (δείτε το κεφάλαιο που του αφιερώνεται στο «Les Enfants du Diable», Albin Michel 1995). Αυτό που μετράει είναι ότι ένα φαινόμενο που involves ένα κολοσσιαίο ποσό ενέργειας θα είχε δημιουργηθεί από μια πυρηνική πόλεμο που involves ένα εκατομμύριο φορές μικρότερη ενέργεια. Έχουμε λοιπόν ένα παράδειγμα καταστρεπτικού effect όπου η ενέργεια του initial effectuator δεν έχει κοινή μέτρηση με τις συνέπειες που θα προκύψουν.
Όταν σκεφτόμαστε «όπλο», σκεφτόμαστε «βόμβα». Μια χημική βόμβα έχει ένα certain potential καταστροφής. Χρειάζονται τόσα κιλά TNT για να καταστρέψουν ένα σπίτι, ένα bunker, κ.λπ.... Αν τώρα envisage the emergence of a climate weapon, θα μπορούσαμε να envisage that the destructive effects could be without common measure with the modesty (energetic) of the phenomenon used to generate them. Σκεφτόμαστε τότε μια δράση στην ionosphere. Έχουμε δει (project Haarp) ότι χρησιμοποιώντας HF στα 60 megahertz θα μπορούσαμε να επιτεθούμε στην ionosphere στα 280 km υψόμετρο και να την θερμάνουμε. Η ionosphere είναι ένα plasma, που απορροφά και ανακλά τα electromagnetic waves, άρα παίζει σημαντικό ρόλο στον έλεγχο της ηλιακής ενέργειας που θα φτάσει στα χαμηλά layers της ατμόσφαιρας. Αν μειώσουμε τοπικά την πυκνότητα αυτού του plasma, αυτό θα είναι πιο transparent και σε αυτή την περιοχή η θερμοκρασία του αέρα που βρίσκεται από κάτω θα αυξηθεί.
Αντίστροφα, με HF, μπορούμε να ionize τον αέρα. Δεν θα χρειαστεί να διατηρήσουμε αυτή την emission. Ένα important pulse, μια καλή HF shower, θα αποσπάσει electrons από τα atoms. Τελικά θα υπάρξει recombination. Ο χρόνος recombination εξαρτάται από την πυκνότητα του αέρα. Θα πάρει περισσότερο χρόνο σε ένα rarified air. Μπορούμε να διατηρήσουμε ένα υψηλό degree of ionization επαναλαμβάνοντας περιοδικά τη διαδικασία με ένα νέο HF pulse. Αυτή η «non-thermal» ionization (αυτή είναι η καθιερωμένη λέξη) δεν θα συνοδεύεται από θέρμανση του αέρα. Άρα αυτός δεν θα διασταλεί, όπως προηγούμενα. Μια catastrophic flood, ravaging a region in a few hours, θα could be converted into showers good for crops, spread over several days. We do not know when this will happen, which also means that we do not know a priori the energy that would suffice to trigger the phenomenon. The closer the snap is, the weaker this energy will be. The technique allows to act in the deep layers of the ground with electromagnetic waves. The Russians had built an enormous generator called «Pamir» in the seventies, whose photos I had seen in 1983 in Chicago, during a MHD congress, which could be transformed on a big truck. It was one of the variants of Sakharov's generator, flux compression. This one had the shape of a camembert box six meters in diameter. This system allowed to circulate strong electric currents in the ground. Officially the device was presented as a system for analyzing the situation of a terrain by measuring over long distances and at great depth the electrical conductivity of the ground. We now know that a variation of this conductivity is the sign of the imminence of an earthquake. I had discussed in 83 in Chicago with the Russian responsible for this project, former students of Velikhov, himself a student of Sakharov. I realize today that such a system could allow not only to study the pre-seismic situation of a terrain but potentially to trigger the earthquake. Thus «geophysical study» constituted the «screen project» hiding the true purpose of this technology, unimaginable by a non-specialist.
Physically speaking these systems allow energy transfers. The initial energy remains that of the explosive that powers the Pamir generator. This system allows to transport through this means electromagnetic waves a part of this energy at great depth. If the fault is not ready to give way, it would take significant energy to trigger the earthquake. The system, used with moderation, can allow to test the terrain, a bit like when you give slight impulses on a block in equilibrium to see if it is ready to slide into a ravine. Military-geophysicists can thus locate in secret around the world, in territories potentially «hostile» or «to be put in order», «sensitive regions» where a more muscular action could trigger a devastating earthquake.
Same remark concerning the volcano. The philosophy is the same: bring energy in depth. There, one thinks of a sort of underground HAARP. Instead of using an impulsive generator like Pamir, one would practice continuous action with pulsed microwaves in very low frequency whose energy would be absorbed by the underlying magma. By targeting a precise point, one could cause an increase in temperature, over hours or days, and trigger convection, the catastrophic rise of a «magma bubble». If Secretary of Defense William Cohen pronounced these words, it was because he had excellent reasons to think that all this was feasible. Add that if the explosive is nuclear or more simply constituted by a small charge of antimatter (which we think the Americans now know how to produce massively, by MHD compression, since the beginning of the eighties) the effect produced would have a much greater intensity.
These technologies, ultimately, could prove less complicated to develop than isotopic separation which realizes a barrier against nuclear proliferation (which did not prevent Israel, India and Pakistan from joining the «club»). Same for antimatter synthesis by compression. I personally think that the key to the development of these «post-nuclear» weapons lies in the possession of good superconducting materials whose Americans hold for the moment the secrets of manufacture. But for how long?
This remark emanates from the American Secretary of Defense. By terrorism we mean actions carried out by «Rogue States». In fact, the non-terrorist is the strongest, «terrorism» being reserved for the weakest. If Powerful States do not practice classical terrorism it is because they do not need it. But we have seen (project HAARP) that manipulations emanating from powerful states could be assimilated to a secret terrorism. If the term «Rogue State» has made its way, others would be needed, such as:
- Police State
- Boss State - Taxpayer State (taxable and corvéable at will) - Guru State
The Police State, that's America. It's no secret to anyone. The Europeans are only the vassals of this powerful suzerain. A few centuries ago the Papal States played very effectively the role of «Guru State». Despite a certain numerical and military weakness, the papacy could influence European history through threats of excommunications or blessings and various investitures that would make everyone laugh nowadays. No pope would dare to try to use the «excommunication» weapon, completely obsolete. On the other hand, we see that the United States (for internal use, it only works chez eux for the moment) do not hesitate to brandish the theme of a «Crusade against Evil» (God bless America, etc). On the other side of the Atlantic, some regions possess a density of Mollah per hectare sufficient to influence, more or less, the course of things. It is a pity that Muhammad, presenting himself as the last prophet, closed the door to this political solution. Nowadays a good Muslim prophet would make a tabac, on such fermented soil. But the Quran forbids such emergence. This being so, one feels that Islam dreams of following a leader, like Bin Laden. But modern technologies mean that this can only be an underground guru, an underground guru, for obvious reasons of survival. It is less glorious than galvanizing crowds, on top of a hill, astride a beautiful white destrier. There remain the video cassettes, waiting for the Americans, annoyed, to decide to treat the satellite Arabsat and the channel Al Jazeera with a good shower of microwaves. It hangs over their heads like a two-euro whistle.
Why did Saddam Hussein not use the bacteriological weapon, in the form of attacks (poisoning of drinking water in large Western cities) when we knew at the time that his commandos were already in place. Doubtless because J.R. Ewing is not the Average European. The Westerners (at least some of them) knew that these threats existed, capable of making tens of thousands of deaths. Perhaps emissaries have, through intermediaries, whispered in Saddam's ear something like:
- Coco, if you do that, we raze Baghdad with an H bomb, see? And no one will protest.
So go know what is happening right now with these threats of large-scale bacteriological attacks. The media repeat to you at length that these weapons are not so easy to use, but it remains that in hot weather a bacterium can reproduce at an hallucinating speed and make ravages if its action passes through a latency time, incubation of the disease. You must know that the pilgrimage to Mecca is «one of the five pillars of Islam». It is written in the Quran. Why would it always be the same ones who suffer? What would happen if Mecca were one day only a deserted expanse? Do you imagine the Ben Laden family, great architect of Mecca, picking up one by one the fragments of the black stone to glue them back. Toward what would Muslims turn to pray? The caves of Al-Qaeda or «Ground Zero»?
I like political fiction, in all its forms. Imagine that the Americans, possessing a fantastic technological advance, and that is the case, spot a small asteroid of a few tens of meters in diameter, quietly installed on its orbit around the Sun, and that they modify its trajectory by pushing on it, in secret. A response to the attack on the Twin Towers, moreover without killing anyone. One day the media announce: «An asteroid heads straight toward Mecca. Pilgrims are asked to clear out quickly». Muslims are terribly superstitious. How to prove that this asteroid would have been «manipulated»? You may know that the Kaaba was a place where pre-Islamists stored their idols, that the famous black stone existed well before Muhammad came into the world. If Islam represents a definitive orthodoxy, then its great ritual schemas pass through a serious recovery of an earlier paganism (against which Muhammad had not judged it good to oppose). Christians have not done better: the bishops' crosiers are nothing other than the sticks of Roman augurs.
I tell you: we live in an exciting era.
Another remark: the passage near the Earth of an iron asteroid, debris of supernova, endowed with a very strong magnetic field. Supernovae, just before their brutal end, possess a central core made of iron, linked to a magnetic field of very high intensity, difficult to quantify. The Sun was born in a cluster of a few hundred stars that dispersed in a few tens of millions of years. Let's say 50 million years. Massive stars (20 solar masses) ejected the small ones by slingshot effect. In passing, these massive stars had time to become supernovae, thus to explode, before the cluster was dispersed. They thus populated it with heavy elements (of which we are constituted). If some supernovae can give birth by compression to residues in the form of neutron stars, it is very possible that in other cases the compression is not symmetrical enough to ensure the transformation of the iron core into a mass of neutrons at contact. The core would then have been dislocated. I have on the table a mini-meteorite the size of a peanut that probably inhabited the heart of a giant star and constitutes today an infinitesimal fragment resulting from its disintegration. No one can prejudge the size of the fragments. On Earth some have landed that had respectable sizes (thus the one that gave birth to the «meteor crater» in Arizona). It is quite possible that there could exist larger ones, ejected far from the Sun (thus then undetectable, but in final approach phase since, unlike comets, they do not degas). Imagine that a supernova fragment the size of Phobos passes near the Earth, without hitting it. It would sweep it with its magnetic field. This would be capable then of acting on the terrestrial field to the point of making it flip, of inverting it. The successive inversions of the terrestrial magnetic field, observed by measurement of the paleomagnetism of lavas, perhaps come from there.
Similarly, physicists are always incapable of explaining «the sufficient reason» (as Professor Pangloss would say) for the presence of a terrestrial field (0.4 gauss, if my memories are exact). We have been talking for decades about «Dynamo effect» without ever being able to model the phenomenon or simulate it, including numerically. Another origin would consist simply in saying that this field pre-existed in the iron block, the size of Mars, that impacted the Earth giving birth to the Moon. The theory of the Dynamo effect is a «Shaddock» theory (why make simple when one can make complicated).
Let's return to this story of metallic asteroid that does not hit the Earth, but brushes it sufficiently close. Not only can it invert its magnetic field, the new field being «remanent», but it can, at the moment of its passage, create Laplace forces within the terrestrial magma. Even if these forces are not intense enough to sensibly modify the shape of our geoid, they can be sufficient to trigger earthquakes, volcanism and even phenomena of greater amplitude still, such as uprisings or collapses of portions of the Earth's crust. Salt water is also conductive of electricity. Within it, Laplace forces would create fluid currents. One can imagine that this asteroid could thus provoke the end of civilizations, like that of an «Atlantis». I do not like these scientists who seek to reduce everything, to pass everything through their intellectual mill imagining that they know everything about everything. Our past remains very mysterious. It is only very recently that our astrophysicists have only envisaged that the Sun could be born in a cluster (Article by Serge Jodra: «Where have the Sun's sisters gone?» in Ciel et espace de &&&, give me the references of the issue). Before, astrophysicists thought that the Sun was born in isolation. But in science, everything proceeds by «catastrophes» (from kata, next to, and strophein, the furrow). The scientific discourse resembles a record. From time to time an event causes the arm of the turntable to jump, change groove. A discourse interrupts then brutally so that another follows, which potentially has nothing to do with the previous one.
The scientific discourse is in fact a discourse of religious type. Science has its priests, its Panglosses, like Hubert Reeves, great dispenser of star dust, like a modern sandman. His sentences begin with «we think that...» and for those who know how to follow discourses over long laps of time, they evolve, they too. You have undoubtedly heard the scientist say that «the myth of Atlantis» is simply linked to the explosion of the volcano of Santorini, in the Greek islands. I went there. Indeed it must have been something. The tsunami that resulted perhaps pulverized some coastal civilizations. Plato perhaps also simply fabulated. Unless it is the effect of the passage of this iron asteroid mentioned above. Notice one thing in passing. Suppose that this asteroid passes a thousand kilometers from the surface of the Earth. It would provoke no phenomenon of the tide style. It would be too small, too little massive, although tidal effects are in 1/r3. Not brushing our atmosphere, it would create no aerological phenomenon (except that which would be due to a powerful mixing of our ionosphere by Laplace forces, because it is ionized). Insofar as this asteroid would not degas (comets reveal themselves mainly by their «tail») it would even be possible that no one would notice it. And yet it would have been perhaps capable of provoking in one night the engulfment of an entire continent, that «of the Atlanteans».
There exists another thesis concerning the disappearance of an ancient civilization, due to a guy whose name I have forgotten and whose book passed totally unnoticed. There exists between England and Norway a vast bank, where the depth is less than 30 meters in places, I believe. It is «Dogger Bank». Glaciations, not only lower the level of the oceans, but make the ocean floors rise near the ice barriers. It is like when you press in one place on a foam mattress. It makes the neighboring part slightly rise. When the ice melts, the glacier retreats. The sea level rises and the ocean floor sinks. There could have existed a civilization living in the Iron Age that would have clung to what has become now «Dogger Bank» making it a ... polder. When it comes to preserving a territory, tens of thousands of men can work for centuries to build thirty-meter high dikes. Especially since the sinking was progressive. The works could have begun in prehistory, actually at the end of this glaciation. And then one day an exceptional storm breaks the barrier. In one night everything is engulfed. The following storms will complete the work. Some centuries later nothing will remain of a civilization that could have been flourishing and perhaps constitute those whom we called «the Sea Peoples» and who caused serious troubles to Egypt at a certain time. Peoples very advanced in navigation, with keeled ships, mastering iron (while the Egyptians, attacked, had only their bronze swords to face it). There are perhaps fabulous things to discover by performing coring in the bottom of Dogger Bank. One finds masses of mammoth bones off Denmark, dating from the time when these plains were still emerged.
