| C | and the comic book album is not remarkable for its artwork. However, its content is very well chosen and illustrative. We live in an era where everyone has reason to fear the effects of nuclear fallout. This album will show you what awaits you if you do nothing. | D | for decades, anti-nuclear activists have been trying their best, multiplying demonstrations, in a near general indifference. For you, they have taken the blows from the CRS, and sometimes they have lost their lives. | C | this album deals with military nuclear issues, evoking what we, the French, did, first in the Sahara, then in Polynesia. Everything that is told is authentic and documented. Photocopies of key documents are attached at the end of the book. | I | t is not very nice, the military nuclear, in all countries. Cynicism, contempt for human life, everything is there. You will see how de Gaulle sent human test subjects to approach the "zero point" immediately after a test, to see "how the troops would behave after a nuclear attack". | L | he Americans did the same, and so did the Russians. | V | ou will read this account from the wife of an engaged man, who died "from the radiation disease". A man she had great difficulty finding, in a military hospital in Clamart, where he ended his agony, as did seventeen of his comrades. | - Are you the wife of the irradiated? | U | senior officer will make her sign, under pressure, a statement on the honor, condemning her to silence ... for forty years. | V | ou will read in amazement the report of a military doctor, embarked on the ship "La Coquille", regarding the mission he carried out at the Gambier Islands, located southwest of Mururoa, which had benefited from abundant fallout, during an aerial nuclear test, on July 2, 1966. Here is the photo of La Coquille, extracted from the book "Les Atolls de la Bombe", by Bernard Dumortier, | . | E | and this doctor to put in his conclusions (see the document titled "The Proof of the Lie"): | - The drinking water presents a radioactivity 6 times higher than its natural value | - Measured with the ship's instruments, a salad taken from the island presents a radioactivity level: | - Not washed: 18,000 pCie/g | - Washed: 5,000 pCie/g | - The Tahitian population is completely unaware, indifferent, and shows no curiosity | - Father Daniel dreams of his next trip and does not know what a fallout is | - The post chief (gendarmerie Cornette) suspects something, multiplies his showers, but without serious concern. We reassured him, he is a reliable element who, whatever happens, will play the game. | ........... | - The political and psychological situation does not seem to pose any problems in the immediate future. | ........... | C | his report is signed by a military doctor, Dr. Philippe Millon | Everything in this book is of the same nature. |
