Talking Bubbles
December 13, 2007
A reader, Thibaut Sibille, proposes this solution. The first time this page appears on the screen, a yellow banner appears at the top. If you click on it, a drop-down menu appears—I didn't note the exact text, but it suggested "enabling something," specifying "it could harm your computer" (this could damage your computer). I enabled this option, and now the bubbles speak. To finalize the work, it would simply require modifying the MP3 files accordingly. However, since I am not sufficiently knowledgeable (and I pose this question to Thibaut Sibille or other readers):
- By choosing this option, what did I do? Did I, for example, disable a protection feature in my browser? Can I continue running my machine this way without risk?
I had thought that this configuration would revert to its initial state when shutting down the machine. That is not the case. That said, my concerns may be unfounded. This is simply a question and a verification. In any case, thank you for this contribution. That said:
One must imagine the power of this technique for literacy and language learning.

I will try to interest UNESCO in this project. If anyone has an "entry point" into this fortress....
