Professor Sean Carroll has granted us permission to host a copy of his excellent introduction to General Relativity on the "Science without Borders" website.
Of course, it is not meant for children. However, it is one of the clearest presentations of this rather difficult field. Carroll does not use the classical hieroglyphics of mathematical physics (the well-known "Bourbaki" formalism!). He writes simply, as an honest physicist and geometer, and sometimes with a good sense of humor.
Students in advanced science courses, take a pen in one hand and aspirin in the other, and dive into this fascinating literature.
