One day I met Sleeping Beauty
She came straight out of her silver castle
Her hair blew in the wind
I said to her, “Hello, you seem like summer itself.”
She replied, “I don’t know; I just woke up.”
And she smiled at me.

I met Cinderella, all dressed up
In her silk dress and linen petticoat
It was midnight
I said, “Hi, you’re lovely.”
“Come spend a day in my little bed,” I added, “just for fun.”

I met Perette, carrying her milk jug
She ran very fast; her petticoat fluttered in the wind
Under the sun
She passed by without seeing me, lost in her thoughts
Running toward the village, with big strides
Like a bee.

The little mermaid, by the water, was dreaming
In her big blue eyes, two stars danced
How beautiful she was!
I took her in my arms and loved her
In the morning, she left with the tide
The young maiden.

Chorus:

Women are like birds – the freer they are, the more beautiful they become.
Don’t cage them; just love them.
