She was beautiful as the night lam sol7 do Ceaselessly she roamed the Earth lam sol7 do Like a beautiful bird fleeing fa do A solitary amazon mi7 lam A single being filled her heart lam sol7 do A son she had carried Lam sol7 do He fell to his misfortune fa do In the desert of Ténéré mi7 lam Chorus: A blond child follows her everywhere lam sol7 do He is always in her thoughts Lam sol7 do He was handsome, he was gentle lam rém lam His name was François-Xavier mi7 lam One day she dried her tears One day she rose again One day she polished her weapons Compassion, charity She learned the ring on her finger She sold all her diamonds She left on the paths To meet the poor
Don't believe it's Mary Who suddenly descends from the sky With gold on her clothes Accompanied by scents of incense That one left without believing in it Without a book where everything is written Without a star, a memory With only her bruised heart She went down into the abysses Where one moans, where one dies She went toward those who suffer She went toward those who weep Albina my sister I love you My son is the brother of yours Your fight, mine are the same But our paths are different There are those who make weapons Machine guns and cannons Enough cries, enough tears Let's open our hearts for good One day we will have to understand That it is better to love than to hate That it is better to give than to take That we must stop lying
The Earth is but a great garden That can feed all its children So that never again will we be hungry So that blood will no longer be shed Will man finally understand That for him the other man is a brother That we all have the same destiny That we are all children of the Earth Final chorus: Blond children are with us They are always in our thoughts They were handsome, they were gentle And we had loved them so much

Albina du Boisvouvray, whom I had known many years ago, had an only child who was the same age as my son: François-Xavier. He was the pilot of the helicopter used by Thierry Sabine, initiator of the Paris-Dakar. They died in an accident that also cost the life of the singer Balavoine. After this tragedy she created the François-Xavier Bagnoux foundation, bearing her son's name, devoting herself to humanitarian works. After Jean-Christophe's death I had invented a safety device for freedivers, causing the automatic inflation of a Mae West after a determined immersion time. Albina had agreed to finance the study of this device and a prototype was successfully tested. But my son's patent agent, maneuvering skillfully, diverted the money and the project had to be abandoned. I did not know that such things were possible. This person, very BCBG, swindled quite a few people, under the guise of humanitarian actions in a perfectly ignoble manner. It is obviously in these domains that one is least wary.
