When I have something to say, it's not on paper that I prefer to write my thoughts, but on my guitar with some G7 chords. I prefer to conjugate the verb "to love" with D because life goes away, because the years pass, because we are here for nothing at all. Everything we build collapses. The sand runs away from your hand. Chorus: The songs do not turn yellow like the photos in the notebooks. The notes are like eternal perfumes. We forget everything, even the skin of those we loved so much. Their kisses fly away like swallows. And when my heart is heavy, when so many people are missing, when my arms can no longer hold them, it's not with words, it's not with tears, but with my heart that I could speak to them. When others don't care anymore and have forgotten those I have never stopped loving, I hope they will hear my way of speaking to them, wherever they may have gone. One day I will leave, I will pack my suitcase for the country from which one never returns. Nothing will remain of the crazy ventures, of the dreams I sometimes built. But if the people I love hum softly some notes of my songs, that's all I ask before leaving for good. That's all I ask before leaving for good.
