Electricity, Differently
April 19, 2006
Here is the first episode of an album I am trying to create for 12-year-olds and, by extension, for "the general non-scientific public." Consider this album an experiment. I would be interested in receiving feedback from parents, teachers, or simply readers.
I have written Episode 1. Others will follow. I know that some teachers are looking for documents of this kind as aids for their teaching. I would therefore be grateful if they tested this "product" with their students, collecting their reactions and listening to their suggestions as education professionals.
This is an important experiment in the sense that, with the Lanturlu series, I wanted to see how far I could go in popularizing high-level concepts (for example: Everything is Relative, the Topologicon, the Logotron, etc.). Here, it is somewhat the reverse approach; the idea is "how far can we go in trying to re-establish contact with students, young people, or people in general who have become resistant to science."
You can also imagine that through this approach, I am also thinking about the "Third World." It will surprise no one if I say that nothing is more difficult than trying to be "as accessible as possible." More than ever, one must succeed in putting oneself... in the reader's place.
