Don't try to think for yourself. Let others do it for you

I have known Pierre Lagrange for 25 years. His sociologist speech has always somewhat perplexed me. A decade ago he wrote in Science et Vie, "what argues against this Roswell affair is its unbelievable nature".

A dedicated debunker of anything related to the UFO and paranormal subjects, he participated in a program produced by the Arte channel, titled "September 11th did not happen", broadcast on April 13, 2004. I noted some of his statements in this program which are true masterpieces. Here, Lagrange commenting on Thierry Meyssan's statements during his appearance on Ardisson's show:

Pierre Lagrange facing Thierry Meyssan (on the television screen)

*- And there it is very strong. By showing us these photos, he somehow elevates the viewer to the status of expert. You see what he sees, and in doing so, he reverses reality... We are dealing with things that are not open to discussion, somewhere (...). He is introducing a debate where it should not be (...). *

Arte presents Lagrange as follows:

*- Pierre Lagrange is interested in those who believe in flying saucers. Between their pseudo-scientific rhetoric and that of Meyssan, he has noticed similarities. *

Then there is an image of Lagrange in close-up, who tells us, commenting on the photos produced by Thierry Meyssan, author of the famous book "The Pentagate":

*- It's very strong because, precisely, he takes people as witnesses (…). His speech is constantly "Look at the photo! Look at the statements that were made, the inconsistencies and everything. And there, you become an actor (…). We are in this idea linked to scientific popularization according to which reality is directly accessible and we don't have the reflex to say "I don't see something on the photo. But it might be something I completely miss. And suddenly, everyone starts looking at these little things saying "Yes, there is a problem. There is something wrong. And in doing so, Thierry Meyssan completely reverses reality (…), like a row of dominoes. *

Read these lines again. If you follow Lagrange's speech, reality must be deciphered by specialists in whom the general public, the television viewer, must place blind trust, without trying to... think for themselves. Look again at the photographs from the previous pages. There is certainly "something you have missed". In fact, everything is normal. Everything is going well in the best of all possible September 11th scenarios. But there is something even more shocking, a bit further into the interview, when Lagrange comments on the images of Meyssan's appearance when he was a guest on Thierry Ardisson's show:

Lagrange commenting, for Arte, on Thierry Meyssan's appearance on Ardisson's show:

*- There, Meyssan is not alone anymore. There is a part of people who are with him, who will think (…), who will feel addressed by his intervention and Thierry Ardisson, like the public, will react in the same way. *

When Meyssan shows the cover of his book "The Pentagate" on which an Associated Press photo is reproduced, Lagrange adds:

*- Meyssan is not someone who comes to give you a lesson saying "I am the expert. You shut up and listen". We are precisely in a situation of potential expert and we see what he sees (…). And that is extremely strong. It is that when he shows the photo we say "Yes, there is no plane...". We find ourselves in a scientific approach discourse and we don't realize that we have completely gone off track and we are discussing things that are not open to discussion (…). That is the problem. Meyssan is introducing a debate where there shouldn't be one (…). *

I think these lines speak for themselves. I don't know if a man who utters such statements deserves the title of sociologist. These sentences are a faithful transcription of the Arte program "September 11th did not happen".

It's up to you to judge.
