Souriau: Grammar of Nature
Grammar in Nature
April 15, 2007
Souriau was allergic to the Web. It took years for my son Jérôme and me to overcome his resistance.
Portrait of Jean-Marie Souriau
We finally managed to convince him. Jérôme, an IT specialist, made his website and we began to install his scientific works on it.
But today, a significant news. He finally gave the green light for the online publication of his latest book:
Grammar in Nature
It took him more than ten years to write. The Herman editions should produce a printed version on paper.
This book was the talk of the town on Rue Mazarine, in Aix-en-Provence, for more than ten years. But how to publish a book when the author keeps making changes according to new ideas that constantly come to his mind? I took the initiative by telling Jean-Marie that by presenting it on a website, this publication would never be fixed and he could modify the book, a real Penelope's tapestry, continuously and at his convenience. Therefore, you will find the book, in several pdf segments, on the mentioned website.
As usual, I proposed to Jean-Marie, for the nth time, to make illustrations for him. But he, as usual, replied:
- I know what will happen. Readers will look at your drawings and not read my text!
I appeal to my readers to convince him to accept me as an illustrator, according to his wishes. To do this, you can send him an email to his address:
Try to be convincing.
