******The Horrible Fraud
| Resist the lie by Thierry Meyssan* | On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the attacks in the United States, we publish in French a text by Thierry Meyssan, already published in Italian and Russian in the collective work Zéro, why the official version of September 11 is a lie. He recounts how he wrote The Horrible Fraud and what followed. Of course, this text, written more than a year ago, must be updated: now the Russian media have taken up the subject. It is clear that the censorship in Western media (which discredit and silence all dissidents, as we saw recently with the comedian Jean-Marie Bigard) will no longer be able to continue for long. | By opening the debate on the September 11 attacks, I had no idea I was about to enter what would soon be called "a global war without end." I just thought I was doing my job as a journalist by pointing out the inconsistencies in the government's version. In the days that followed, I published a series of articles on the Internet reconstructing the chronology of events, minute by minute and highlighting the unbelievable role of NORAD (the military air defense command). I immediately noted that the perpetrators of the attacks had accomplices in the White House and the Joint Chiefs of Staff; that the individuals accused of hacking the planes were not on the passenger lists; that the accumulation of clues left behind was not credible; that explosives had been placed in the twin towers; that Osama bin Laden provided a convenient alibi to justify an attack on Afghanistan decided in advance; and, of course, that all of this would serve to fuel the "clash of civilizations" project and justify a chain of wars. | Like many others, I had understood that on that day, the world had changed. Yet, I continued to act and write as before. It was only later, when facing the difficulties that would arise, that I found new ways to defend our freedom. | I ventured to identify the groups capable of carrying out such an operation. Having studied the NATO stay-behind networks (commonly known as Gladio), I was struck by a number of similarities in the modus operandi. I found in my archives a copy of an internal bulletin from commandos based at Fort Bragg, known as the Special Forces Underground. It announced, eight months in advance, the attack on the Pentagon. Under the presidency of Bill Clinton, this group - composed of elite soldiers involved in major secret US operations abroad - had been accused of participating in a conspiracy. In the context, I unfortunately could not pursue the investigation much further. | Thierry Meyssan | I therefore set out to reconstruct in detail the different attacks to better understand their mechanism. "I realized what was happening just before it hit the building," noted the captain, adding that he had heard people screaming at the scene of the tragedy. | The Pentagon is located in Virginia, about one kilometer from the second airport in Washington, Reagan National Airport. | jm/gcv/vmt | According to the government's version, a commercial plane crashed into the Pentagon at 9:38 a.m. (13:38 GMT), but according to the AFP dispatches, there were explosions in the building before the plane crash. There would therefore have been not one, but several attacks on the Pentagon. | I therefore started to collate all the available photos of the crime scene to see if there were any distinct signs of explosions. _ However, another question was troubling my mind: how could the AFP editor have titled one of his dispatches "A plane is heading towards the Pentagon"? Indeed, one can observe that a plane is heading towards Washington, but how can one know if, once there, it would target the Pentagon rather than the Capitol or the White House? Indeed, this story was not clear. | I showed the photos I had gathered to some knowledgeable friends: a former fighter pilot, a firefighter, and a bomb expert. The pilot did not understand why the terrorists would have carried out a complicated maneuver to crash their plane into the facade instead of simply diving onto the roof. The firefighter and the bomb expert were surprised by the fire, which bore no resemblance to those caused by plane crashes. I then observed what everyone should have noticed from the very first moment: there were no openings in the facade through which a plane could have entered the building, nor any plane wreckage outside. Because simply, there had been no plane. | I had just found "the egg of Christopher Columbus" and America would not be grateful to me. | My eldest son, Raphael, took the photos again and highlighted the impossibility of the government's version in the form of a game of seven errors that spread around the world wide web in a few hours. While my articles were only available in French, the captions of these photos were quickly translated into the main languages, while the playful presentation ensured their popularity.
