Jean Robin had contacted me in the spring of 2011. Later, I received an email from him saying:
- Never has an editor or a journalist done for you what I have done, me. Never forget it!
To that, I would say that I would have preferred our paths never to have crossed. In fact, I had no need for him to spread videos, which after all required neither graphic illustration nor editing work. If I had it to do over again, I would have made them freely downloadable on YouTube, as is the case for the five videos I have uploaded on ITER and a sixth one about my conception of life in the cosmos.
The five videos on ITER were recorded with my friend Alix in August 2012, in one big day (the internet user can verify this by seeing the shadow in the background change throughout the episodes). They required no editing, only a graphic illustration and the addition of subtitles, done by a friend in the spring of 2013.
It's all a matter of time. If Alix comes back to my place this summer, as planned, we will prepare a new batch of recordings. First, we need to complete the technical videos on ITER with another one on the Mégajoule scandal. A project that will continue while all the elements are there (the failure of the similar NIF, National Ignition Facility, in the USA) to know that this laser fusion attempt will not work (a factor of 100 is missing in the focused energy. A triviality. A matter completely ignored by science media that are completely bought out) and that, in addition, the experimental data collected on this bench will be of little use to the military who fund this operation. But in France, nothing can oppose the waste. It will only be an additional 17 billion euros.
When new videos are recorded, I will stay on the side of the screen, which will make it easier to include illustrations, or even animations. Patients, internet users should say to themselves, "Why would I send 140 euros to Robin to access conferences that will be more structured, more illustrated and ... free!"
What You Need to Know About Jean Robin

March 7, 2012: This page has been forgotten by the news of Enquête et Débat.
Here is how to access it, read the comments and possibly post another one:

On the other hand, the icon leading to a page encouraging readers of Enquête et Débat to buy the DVDs of Jean-Pierre Petit is still in place on the homepage (50 euros for each of the three sets of three DVDs), while the agreed percentage (3 euros per DVD sold) no longer reaches the association Savoir Sans Frontières, as had been agreed. And this has been the case since July 2011.
Abuse of trust.
I personally have no need for the "advertisement" that Jean Robin claims to be doing for me through these interviews, and I would like them to be immediately removed and deleted. He no longer sells these DVDs for his exclusive benefit.
Readers ask me about the reasons for this relentless effort, visible on the page mentioned above.
I had not considered it useful to bring our disagreements into the public eye, having urgent work to complete at the moment and many other more important topics to focus on. I had simply indicated on my website, without giving the reason, that I would not be present at the Book Fair in Paris, on March 16-17-18, 2012, and that I had nothing to do with the removal of access to the videos, carried out by Jean Robin on February 15, 2012.
But the false allegations of Jean Robin force me to respond.
In his article, Jean Robin writes, "Let's go back to the history." Here is the real history.
First contact:
Jean Robin contacted me in May 2011 and asked me for an interview on the theme of "freedom of expression." Before that, I did not know his website, his publishing house, or him. Looking at his website, the idea of "giving a voice to people and organizing dialogues/debates without taboos" seemed interesting to me. Therefore, I agreed to his request for an interview, and he came to my house on the weekend of May 21-22, 2011, during which we recorded 5 hours of interview.
Before his visit to my house, there was no mention of sales. At my home, Jean Robin expressed his desire to commercialize these interviews. Personally, in my whole life, I have never sold a single interview! However, thinking about the difficulties that small independent media can face, I decided to accept that Robin could earn some money by selling these interviews on DVD, in order to help him.
Therefore, we concluded an agreement according to which I would not personally receive a single cent in this operation, but 3€ per DVD sold (sold directly by Enquête et Débat, without an intermediary, at a price of 20 euros, plus shipping costs) would be paid to the association Savoir Sans Frontières.
First "success":
The sale of the first set (DVDs 1-2-3) was launched, and I announced it on the homepage of my website at the request of Jean Robin to help him get started. This first set was a success (Robin's article testifies to it). Therefore, he came back to my house for a second weekend (July 16-17-18, 2011), during which we recorded 10 hours of interview. At that time, Jean Robin informed me that 400 DVDs had been sold in 5 weeks, and therefore 1200€ went to the association Savoir Sans Frontières. He wanted to film the moment when he gave me this check and to include this sequence in the DVDs for sale, which gave him a good image in the process.
When doubts arise:
The sale of the second set (DVDs 4-5-6) was launched. As with the first, at the request of Jean Robin, I announced it on my website, always with the aim of helping him. But time passed, and nothing came in, corresponding to the share that should have gone to the association Savoir Sans Frontières.
So far, I had no suspicion. To pay...
