Nicolas Bourbakof va rencontrer l'équipe d'Hubert de la Boissinière à Dzoun Boulak, en Asie centrale, qui construit un bateau étrange, alimenté en partie par un propulseur étrange fourni par un certain Jacobson. Tout le monde décolle. Dans toutes les directions en dehors du Système solaire. En accélérant à 0,5 g, le vaisseau peut dépasser Pluton en 17 jours. Bourbakof se fait des amis à bord, Fowler, un médecin qui a fui Princeton, Turyshev, un biologiste. Boissinière attend impatiemment un message de Jacobson, qui enverra les instructions pour ce voyage sans précédent. Malheureusement, une éruption solaire interrompt la réception. Les membres de l'expédition sont "en vol aveugle". Ils n'ont entendu que le début du message quand ils ont appris qu'il y avait "suffisamment de connaissances mathématiques dans la tête de Bourbakof pour piloter la mission". Mais quelles connaissances s'interrogeait Boissinière ? Comment pourraient-ils aller regarder dans sa tête ? Quelles questions devraient-ils poser ? Boissinière demande à Bourbakof de donner des séminaires à l'équipage. Un résultat de ceux-ci est l'équation de Lagrange pour un problème de bulle de savon. Turyshev se dit intérieurement qu'il aurait dû être mathématicien. Soudain, Picard, l'astronome du vaisseau, détecte un vaste champ de blocs de glace directement sur la trajectoire du vaisseau, se déplaçant à 8000 km/h. À cette vitesse, il est impossible d'éviter l'impact. Il s'agit des débris du 11e avion, désintégrés par un effet de marée, et en route vers la Terre. C'est la raison de cette dernière mission. Pendant ce temps, sur Terre, Jacobson et ses "amis" vont tenter de détruire le nuage de comètes qui ne parviendrait pas à temps autrement. Boissinière se souvient d'une enveloppe bleue que Jacobson lui avait laissée : "à ouvrir quand vous aurez quitté le Système solaire". Il l'ouvre...

1/1/2001 : Peut-être certains lecteurs savent-ils que, avant de me tourner vers l'astrophysique et la cosmologie en 1987, j'ai eu une longue activité (15 ans) en magnétohydrodynamique (j'étais initialement spécialiste de mécanique des fluides et j'ai travaillé sept ans à l'Institut de mécanique des fluides de Marseille, France, entre 1965 et 1972). Peut-être aussi certains savent-ils que j'ai également été très intéressé par le cas des OVNIS, et ai consacré des années à son étude. Lorsque j'ai ouvert ce site web, j'avais décidé, non pas d'abandonner cet intérêt, mais de le cacher. En réalité, dans mon esprit, il n'a jamais cessé depuis 25 ans (j'ai publié quatre livres sur ce sujet. Un était un best-seller en France). En 1975, j'ai imaginé que des "aérodyne MHD" pourraient naviguer dans l'air dense, sans produire de bang sonique ni de turbulence. Ils pourraient être parfaitement silencieux. De plus : sur la base de la MHD, ils devraient être en forme de disque ! Au début, cette idée semblait folle. Mais elle ne l'est plus aujourd'hui. J'ai publié des dizaines d'articles dans des revues scientifiques, avec système de relecture par les pairs, et lors de congrès internationaux de MHD (par exemple Moscou 1983, Tsukuba 1987, Pékin 1990). Dans les années 80, un étudiant, Bertrand Lebrun, a fait une thèse de doctorat avec moi sur ce sujet : "annulation des ondes de choc par les forces de Lorentz, action des forces électromagnétiques autour d'un modèle immergé dans un écoulement gazeux supersonique". Cette thèse a été présentée en 1986 et nous avons publié ensemble de nombreux bons articles scientifiques solides (par exemple dans le journal européen de physique).
...Récemment, j'ai eu de nouvelles idées. Elles étaient tellement passionnantes que j'ai décidé, avec des amis (parmi lesquels certains sont des scientifiques de haut niveau, maintenant à la retraite), de relancer ces recherches après une pause de 13 ans. Nous construisons un site expérimental de recherche, dans le sud de la France, avec nos propres fonds et des matériaux traditionnels, alimentation électrique, bancs optiques et condensateurs. La recherche commencera à la fin de l'année 2001. Ces nouvelles idées sont décrites dans une section MHD.
...Dans une autre section, je présente mes idées personnelles sur les voyages interstellaires, à travers un "univers jumeau". Pour ceux qui peuvent voir, tous mes travaux en astrophysique et en cosmologie théorique tendent vers cet objectif. Peut-être est-il temps, maintenant, de révéler cette vérité sur mon site web.
Il y a beaucoup de nouvelles choses sur mon site web, mais je n'ai pas eu assez de temps pour traduire ce nouveau matériel en anglais. Lanturluland parle actuellement français, mais dès que possible, je vais ouvrir une version anglaise de ce sous-site. En effet, il y a de nombreux livres, articles, publiés en anglais, mais aussi en japonais, italien, polonais, allemand, espagnol, russe, portugais, etc. Ces livres ont disparu depuis de longues années, et ce site web plus l'édition CD-ROM est un moyen de garantir leur survie. Mais il y a des milliers de pages à numériser, et je suis seul...

Nicolas Bourbakof is going to meet Hubert de la Boissinière's team in Dzoun Boulak, in Central Asia, which is buildings a strange ship, fuelled in part by a strange propulsor supplied by a certain Jacobson. Everyone takes off. In any direction outside the Solar System. By accelerating to a half g the ship can pass beyond Pluto in 17 days. Bourbakof makes friends on board, Fowler, a physician who had fled Princeton, Turyshev, a biologist. Boissinière waits impatiently for a message from Jacobson, who will send instructions for this unprecedented voyage. Unfortuazntely a solar eruption interrupts reception. The members of the expedition are "flying blind". They only heard the beginnng of the message when they learnt that there was "sufficient mathematic knowledge in Bourbakof's head to fly the mission". But what knowledge Boissonière asked himself? How could they go and look into his head. What questions should they ask? Boissonière asks Bourbakof to give seminars to the crew. A result of these is the lagrange equation for a soap bubble problem. Turyshev thinks to himself that he should have been a mathematician. Suddenly Picard, the ship's astonomer, detects an enormous field of ice blocks directly in line with the ships trajectory and it is moving at 8000 km/h. A that speed it is impossible to take avoiding action. It is the debris of the 11th plane, disintegrated by a tidal effectn and moving towards Earth. It is the reason for this last chance missiont. Meaznwxhile, on Earth, Jacobson and his "friends" are going to try to destroy the swarm of comets which won't be ong in arriving otherwise. Boissonnière remebers a blue envelope that Jacobson left him: "to be opened when you've left the Solar System". He opens it ...

1/1/2001 : Perhaps some readers know that, before shifting to astrophysics and cosmology in 1987 I had a long activity (15years) in magnetohydrodynamics (I was initially a specialist in fluids mechanics and I worked seven years in the Institute of Fluids Mechanics of Marseille, France, between 1965 and 1972). Perhaps also some know that I was also very interested in the ufo case, and devoted years to study it. When I opened this website I had decided, not to give up this interest, but to hide it. In fact, in my mind, it never failed since 25 years (I published four books on this subject. One was a best seller, in France). In 1975 I imagined that "MHD aerodynes" could cruise in dense air, without creating sonic boom and turbulence. They could be perfectly silent. More : on MHD grounds they should be disk-shaped ! At the begining, this idea looked crazy. But it does not, today. I published dozen of papers in scientific journals, with peer review system, and in international MHD meetings (for example Moscow 1983, Tsukuba 1987, Pekin 1990). In the eignties a student, Bertrand Lebrun, did a phd thesis with me, on this subject : "shock wave cancellation by Lorentz forces, electromagnetic forces action around a model imbedded in a supersonic gas flow". This thesis was presented in 1986 and we published together a lot of good solid scientific papers (for example in the european Jr of Physics).
...Recently, I got new ideas. They were so exciting that I decided, with friend (among them, some are top level scientists, now retired) to restart such research, after a 13 years stop. We are building an experimental research site, in the south of France, with our own funding and old fashioned materials, electric supplies, optical and capacitor banks. Research will start at the end of 2001. These new ideas are described in a MHD section.
...In another section, I present my personal ideas about interstellar travels, through a "twin universe". For whom who can see, all my works in astrophysics and theoretical cosmology tend to that goal. It is perhaps time, now, to reveal this thruth in my website
There are a lot of new things on my website, but I had no time enough to translate this new material into english. Lanturluland is presently french talking, but as soon as I can I will open an english talking version of this subsite. In effet, there is lot of books, papers, published in english, bu also in japanese, italian, polish, german, spanish, russian, potugese, and so on.. These books have disappeared for long years, and this website plus cd rom edition, is a way to ensure their survival. But there are thousands of pages to be scanned, and I am alone....
