On December 8, 2004, at 10:33 a.m. Eastern Time, Applied Digital Solutions’ subsidiary, VeriChip Corporation, appointed three distributors for the Asian markets: one for Thailand/Indonesia, one for Malaysia, and one for South Korea.
DELRAY, Florida.– (BUSINESS WIRE)– On December 8, 2004, Applied Digital (Nasdaq: ADSX), a provider of “innovative security solutions,” announced that its subsidiary, VeriChip Corporation, had been granted exclusive rights to distribute VeriChip in Thailand/Indonesia, Malaysia, and South Korea.
To maintain this exclusivity, each distributor must purchase a minimum number of VeriChips and scanners over a three-year period. Collectively, these purchases amount to at least 65,825 VeriChips and 4,687 scanners. Each distributor plans to sell and market VeriChip for use in security, medical, and emergency identification purposes.
VeriChip Corporation granted Inforlexus (www.Inforlexus.com.my) exclusive distribution rights for Thailand/Indonesia. It also granted Universal Microchip (www.universalmicrochip.com) exclusive distribution rights for Malaysia. For South Korea, VeriChip Corporation assigned exclusive distribution rights to SI&I Co., Ltd. (http://www.siikorea.com). In 2002, VeriChip Corporation granted exclusive rights to another company in South Korea, but that company failed to meet its minimum purchase requirements, resulting in the termination of the contract.
