Michel Padrines
November 19, 2010
We knew, when we came to participate in the Strasbourg conference, organized by Michel Padrines, that his cancer had already spread. Prostate cancer, with bone metastases, known to be very painful. He kept on until the end with admirable courage. Now, after a beginning of coma, his kidneys are failing. I think there is nothing more that can be done, except to send him a message saying thank you. Here is his e-mail address:
Some have already done so. Do it. This conference was very well organized and managed, by him, his friends and family, from beginning to end. Although there were a few weak presentations, overall the event worked very well. Padrines' idea had been to choose as the theme:
Astronomy - Space - Ufology
He is to be credited with having succeeded in bringing in the astronaut Claude Nicollier and a former student of Fred Hoyle, Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, director of a laboratory in Cardiff, England, which studies life in the universe in all its forms, starting with primitive biomolecules found in certain meteorites. As for Nicollier, there is no need to introduce this Swiss national who participated in four missions on the American shuttle, in order to ensure the maintenance of the Hubble telescope, and who was the only non-American to be the commander of this spacecraft. A man of warm and simple approach, who also praised Padrines for the quality of the interventions.
The charisma of the pilot Jack Krine, a UFO witness, also received unanimous approval.
We will try to make this conference have a follow-up. But it is not certain that we will choose France for the next one. For that, we will need money. I have written a book that my wife and I are currently preparing.
The book will be printed by Ufoscience and sold for its exclusive benefit. I hope it will allow us to continue financing our research, to go to new international congresses (the new experimental results are already available) and beyond that, to organize a new conference. We are doing our best to have it available, sold by correspondence by UFO-science (20 euros, including postage) before Christmas 2010.
Whatever happens, if we manage to organize a new conference, we know what words will open the speech, an homage to the one who made it possible for the first conference on UFOs to take place, which truly deserved the name of scientific conference. It is to Michel Padrines that you owe it.
Thank him.
I remind you of his e-mail address:
And, if you decide to do it, do it quickly!
And finally, a copy of the message I received yesterday from his partner Agnès:
| Strasbourg, November 18, 2010 | Dear Mr. Petit, | I take the liberty of replying to your long letter to Michel Padrines, my partner. Thank you infinitely for thinking of him, as he really needs it. | Thank you also for all these news, which would have certainly pleased him under normal circumstances! I have made a copy and read it to him in his hospital bed; I think he understood the main points. He couldn't speak, but I saw in his eyes all the interest he was showing. | A few days after the congress, Michel learned from his doctors about the progression of his myeloma, which had been scheduled for chemotherapy. This was the first blow after the congress. | Fortunately for his morale, the echoes of the congress were very positive regarding the organization and content. Many people wrote to congratulate him for the organization and for his courage. | The morale was there, but he had to face unbearable pain in his back and other pains due to his condition, and the morphine doses he was given were getting stronger and stronger. He was fighting with great courage... until the day he didn't wake up on the morning of Saturday, November 6th. | I called the emergency services and he was admitted to the intensive care unit; they managed to wake him up... but on Sunday his condition had worsened, his kidneys were blocked and he was unconscious. He has only opened his eyes a few days ago and he is still on a ventilator. | Since then, we have been oscillating between hope and despair. His kidneys still don't work, he is undergoing dialysis every two days, the doctors are not giving any prognosis. There is a slight improvement according to the days... I pray that God will keep him a little longer, maybe even for a long time; hope keeps people alive. He didn't deserve what is happening to him! | During the conference we appreciated Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, a real gentleman. His wife was also charming. I see that you also appreciated this Indian professor, for different reasons. | Claude Nicollier, "very classy", not only his lecture. In my opinion, he is also a very good and very sensitive man. | Jack Krine was universally appreciated, he is really very friendly. | Thank you and congratulations to all of you! Thank you for coming, and thank you for Michel. | Sincerely, | His partner, Agnès |
