The Price of Courage

How old must one be to have courage?

For 2011, we present to you our best old ** **** **

Sent to me by a reader, whom I immediately relay due to its importance:

Title: Revelations about the Zionist Lobby - Helen Thomas (The Real News) Helen Thomas:

Helen Thomas (born August 4, 1920) is a renowned press agency reporter, columnist for Hearst Newspapers, and accredited White House correspondent from 1960 to 2010. She worked fifty-seven years as a correspondent and bureau chief at the White House for United Press International (UPI) before joining Hearst.

She covered American presidential affairs from John F. Kennedy to the current president, Barack Obama.

She is a member of several prestigious journalistic circles, often being the first woman to join them.

Regarding the atrocities committed by the Israeli Zionist army in Palestine and Lebanon, she described these genocides as butchery.

Following these statements about Zionism, she was forced into retirement.

Helen Thomas is now ninety years old. But, as you will see from this video, she has retained her full mind and all her courage.

Helene Thomas 01

She is the guest on The Real News program. The commentator begins by recalling that she was an accredited journalist for every U.S. president for fifty-eight years, up to Obama, who demanded her retirement—that is, the end of her accreditation. We will see later why.

Helene Thomas 02

Here with President Gerald Ford

She was the first woman to become a member of the White House Correspondents Association.

She is present at the first press conference given by President Obama. Just elected, he begins by addressing her.

Obama

Obama, giving his first press conference after his election ****

Obama2

He appears visibly excited, but we will see that he is far less so in the seconds that follow

Helen Thomas takes the microphone and asks him:

Obama3

The translation does not match exactly what she says:

- President, do you know of any country in the Middle East that owns nuclear weapons?

It is not "do you know" but:

- President, are you aware of any nation in the Middle East possessing nuclear weapons?

Obama’s smile disappears immediately. He is visibly thinking about crafting a diplomatic response and produces this completely senseless transitional phrase:

obama4

With respect to nuclear weapons.....

The subtitle corresponds to a poor translation. The correct translation is "With regard to nuclear weapons..."

He continues by saying:

- I don't want to speculate "if I know is this" (whether or not this is the case).

And he quickly diverts the question by stating that if he believed an arms race were beginning in this unstable region, everyone would be in danger. He adds: "One of my goals is to combat nuclear proliferation in general. I think it's important for the United States, in coordination with Russia."

But Helen Thomas takes the microphone again and says:

Obama5

But clearly, she is quickly cut off by the production team

Obama does not answer this question. Yet, there is no one in the world who doubts that Israel possesses nuclear weapons—this weapon was developed at a sensitive site, Dimona, in the Sinai. So sensitive that during the Six-Day War, a surface-to-air missile fired from this installation destroyed an Israeli fighter-bomber and killed its pilot, who had made a minor navigation error.

- At Dimona, they fire first, ask questions later.

Obama could have answered:

- This question should be asked of every country in the Middle East, without exception, at the next session of the United Nations.

And Helen Thomas would have immediately responded:

- Including the State of Israel?

To which he could only answer affirmatively, saying "yes" or "all countries in the Middle East, without exception."

But Obama changes the subject and does not answer the question. He follows the dictate of the powerful Israeli lobby in the United States. The question of Israel possessing nuclear weapons must not be asked—neither here nor anywhere else. Especially not at the United Nations!

As for Helen Thomas, she will no longer appear at such press conferences, having asked "the question that should not be asked." To ask such a question at 90 years old requires being "senile," says the video. Obama had her "retired."

When you create online files, you open drawers. There are video files accessible quickly that trace the history of nuclear development in Israel. Everything is clear, known, established, proven, and shocking. In this development at Dimona, France, which installed a plutonium-producing reactor there, bears enormous responsibility. From the beginning, this site was focused on developing the atomic bomb for the Hebrew state. In fact, the development of Israel's nuclear weapon closely followed that of France's. I will have to make a dossier on "Israel and the Bomb." Facing this avalanche of documents, Obama’s attitude is alarming, showing just how deeply the United States has fallen under the control of the tiny state of Israel.

In the 1960s, France equipped the Israeli Air Force with Mirages, initially designed to carry nuclear weapons, manufactured by the company then led by Marcel Dassault, who changed his name from Bloch—Jewish—to Dassault upon returning from a German concentration camp. It was also the company "Dassault" that designed the first Jericho missile.

Selective assistance?

Think again! Within a few years, the French provided Iraq with components for the Osirak nuclear reactor, which was destroyed in an Israeli air raid after two sabotage operations carried out in France and an assassination committed by Mossad in broad daylight in Paris, at a hotel, of the Egyptian engineer overseeing the construction of Iraqi nuclear facilities.

Take a look at the Iran-Iraq War (initiated by Saddam Hussein, by the way). French companies produced weapons that supplied both sides (thus the French company Lucher for shells).

In France, where money can be made...

Not long ago, strategists studied how the Hebrew state might carry out an aerial strike on Iranian nuclear sites. The distance seemed too great and required mid-air refueling over Iraqi territory—therefore requiring U.S. collaboration. But the emergence in 2008 of the intercontinental Jericho III missile changed everything. Israel, which experts estimate possesses over 200 nuclear bombs, produces these missiles at a high rate (and continues to produce its nuclear warheads at Dimona, without any oversight whatsoever).

Jericho III

The Israeli intercontinental missile Jericho III, emerging from a container that not only foreshadows Israeli silos, but also the launch tubes of future nuclear-powered submarines that the country dreams of acquiring. It already has three submarines, of the Dauphin type, capable of launching cruise missiles carrying nuclear weapons... built by France ****

portée Jéricho III

Range of the Israeli three-stage Jericho III missile: 11,000 km

You're surprised, right? That covers Europe, half of China, a large part of Russia, Iceland...

And you hear Obama responding to Helen Thomas that "if by chance he heard about a nuclear arms race somewhere in the Middle East, he wouldn't remain inactive."

Well, sure...

Don’t think he’s unaware of this. It’s just that in the United States, it has already been abundantly demonstrated that a president’s life is worth little. There is his life, that of his family, his children. In the U.S., it's easier to take risks when you know you have only a few years left to live (I just took a look at the conditions surrounding the assassination of Robert Kennedy, brother of John Kennedy. He is said to have been assassinated by... a Palestinian, but you’ll see that all photos taken were seized by police and... destroyed).

Did you know that the city of Jericho is one of the Palestinian cities razed by the Hebrews during their brilliant conquest of the Promised Land? In the Old Testament, you will read "devoted to destruction." That is, genocide. The conquest of the Promised Land was a carefully planned Shoah. At Jericho, the Hebrews killed men, women, children, elders, livestock, and razed the city. Their military commander, Joshua, concluded this brilliant action by saying:

- Woe to anyone who rebuilds this city!

What had the inhabitants of Jericho done? Nothing. They were included in the Hebrew genocidal plan.

I imagine journalist Elisabeth Lévy has never read a single line of the Old Testament. When I began studying it, before turning it into a 400-page comic book, I was astonished by the ignorance of these foundational texts within Jewish communities. Likewise, very few Christians know the contents of the Acts and Epistles of their New Testament. But it's the same in all religions. "Believers" know little or nothing about their sacred texts, and when they do read them, they interpret them through their own lens. Thus, in the Old Testament, which reader perceives the meaning of the expression "devoted to destruction," meaning for a city or community, condemned to genocidal extermination?

Today we realize that among our politicians, courage seems to emerge only at an advanced age. Everyone remembers the speech by Robert Byrd, the sole member of the U.S. Senate who opposed the Iraq War completely and alone, speaking in front of an empty hall in February 2003. Link. He was then 82 years old.

It so happens that I had, cautiously, saved this video on my own site back in 2005:

Byrd

Senator Robert Byrd speaking in front of an empty hall, just before the Iraq War

/legacy/VIDEOS/robertbyrd.wmv

On March 19, 2003, on the first day of the invasion of Iraq, Byrd delivered a speech in the Senate against the war:

« Today, I weep for my country. With a very heavy heart, I have watched the events of recent months unfold. The image of America is no longer that of a guardian of peace, strong but benevolent. The image of America has changed. Around the world, our friends distrust us, our words are challenged, our intentions are questioned. Instead of reasoning with those we disagree with, we demand their obedience or threaten them. »

Today, one might turn to this man, who had a prophetic view of events in the Middle East. But it would be futile. No one is eternal.

***He passed away in May of this year, at the age of 86. ***

More recently, another "senior," Senator Bernie Sanders, has just publicly denounced the growing two-speed America, with an "America on top" and an "America at the bottom."

How old must one be to dare raise the real questions? What is happening in the United States is identical to what is happening in Europe—the two countries shaken by the brutal consequences of globalization. A reorganization, with a "Global Government," ardently desired by our beloved President, Nicolas Sarkozy, a desire that would be pursued by the small Strauss-Kahn, if he were to succeed him, creating an ever-widening gap between those wallowing in rivers of profit, especially importers, and citizens who are increasingly expected to pay for the bill of an incredibly scandalous financial mess.

*- Without banks, no salvation! *

The adoption of the euro revealed its perverse effects. Initially, the goal was to create a strong currency, immune to any speculation attempts. The step was taken, and it is now difficult to reverse, because any country leaving the euro to boost exports via devaluation would see its own currency collapse, facing attacks from all financial powers united against this rebel. The European Monetary Snake would no longer be there to support the rebellious country against a financial and monetary attack.

Look at this curve, with its dizzying ascent.

dette publique France

The growth of France's public debt since 1978

We are in debt, but to whom? For what? Debt used to be the affair of so-called developing countries, "poor nations." Countries that borrowed from the International Monetary Fund and could only borrow again just to pay interest. Economies too fragile to cover their deficit by printing money—a national currency that would immediately be devalued to the point of losing all value. The only solution was borrowing from the IMF.

Are we now caught in the same spiral? But why??? And why does debt "start" at zero in 1978? Before, we weren't in debt? The explanation lies in a law passed on January 3, 1973, concocted by Pompidou and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, that false nobleman with carefully glued strands of hair on his head, who pretended to play the accordion and dine with ordinary people. Read:

http://www.lepost.fr/article/2010/02/04/1923483_pompidou-et-giscard-d-estaing-ont-vendu-le-peuple-francais-aux-banquiers-banksters-le-3-janvier-1973.html

If you want to understand a little about the initial problem of a country's currency, read my comic book The Economicon. When a country runs a deficit—and it always does—it spends more than its tax revenues allow. It compensates by issuing money (formerly by printing bills. But today electronic money has taken over, and this monetary creation happens with just a few keystrokes on a keyboard). This expansion of its money supply, using its own currency, devalues it. What is rare is expensive, and what ceases to be rare depreciates. Prices rise, but the currency's devaluation artificially lowers export prices and boosts exports, while simultaneously blocking imports. This currency depreciation also impoverishes workers, who are surprised to see their purchasing power decline even as their wages rise or remain stable. They are surprised to have to pay more and more for everything coming from abroad (starting with oil and basic goods).

This is the trick of King Numis, who thus creates "fake money" through this paper currency.

But with Giscard, France entered a much more perverse monetary and economic dynamic. The law in question banned the state from issuing its own money. One might think this was to control inflation, the tendency to pay everything with monkey money. But behind this remedy lay a disease few recognized. This "fresh money" is no longer created by the state, but borrowed from private banks, which thus perform monetary creation based on loans granted against non-existent deposits!

Thus, banks buy countries, economies, with wind, monkey money, "empty economic space," to use the expression from my comic book.

By issuing money, the state acted as if it were lending to itself at zero interest. This money simply diluted. Its origin was no longer sought. But thanks to this Giscard law, confirmed by Article 104 of the Maastricht Treaty, it is now all the banks of the world that own the countries. What happened in poor nations became the rule in former rich nations.

The Giscard law forbade France from creating its own francs. It had to borrow them from private banks (primarily Rothschild Bank), based on non-existent deposits. The Maastricht Treaty generalizes the fraud. European countries cannot create euros themselves but must borrow them from private banks, at interest. Otherwise, by increasing its money supply without interest, Europe could lend to itself at zero interest.

With this little game, since 1978 France has already accumulated 1,327 billion euros in interest (figure from 2008).

Take a look at "this great European" Giscard d'Estaing, and the various ministerial portfolios he held until his election as President of France. A similar trajectory for Pompidou, a pure product of the Rothschild Bank, where he worked from 1959 to 1958, then from 1959 to 1962 as... director, outright! This position as director of this private bank did not prevent him from presiding over the Constitutional Council, where the egghead also served.

You're looking for the " banksters "? But there they are! You've seen them for decades on your television screens. They've even quietly become Presidents of all French people.

As for the globalized economy, it serves only certain interests—short-term interests, voracious appetites based on outsourcing stemming from a remarkable underestimation of the Chinese ability to absorb the most sophisticated technologies.

For more on this, see my 2005 article on the economic visions of European deputy Daniel Cohn-Bendit, particularly what this fool envisioned for relations with China. You'll appreciate the naivety of people at Airbus, with their A320 assembly line, "concerned about avoiding uncontrolled technology transfers."

Don't worry, now it's done!

For the record, many aircraft sold by France to the Chinese were never put into service on Chinese airline routes. Where were they then? Somewhere, dismantled piece by piece, for careful examination...

Regarding age, before returning to this topic linked to journalist Helen Thomas’s intervention, let us also mention Jesse Ventura’s show, younger in age. He is a sexagenarian, former governor of Minnesota, former wrestling champion, former Marine, specialized in demolishing coastal installations during the Vietnam War. A man who does not hesitate to call Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld cowards.

jesse ventura

Jesse Ventura, 60 years old, former governor of Minnesota, leading proponent of conspiracy theories

He hosts an entire television series, packed with advertisements, as is the norm in the United States. But the messages he conveys are shocking. We know the expression "conspiracy theory," which was launched by all official proponents, labeling anyone who challenged them as conspiracy maniacs.

Ventura is now reclaiming this term for himself. Yes, he sees conspiracies everywhere and isn't afraid to say so openly. He adds in interviews... that he no longer takes airplanes.

While subtitled into French, his show on September 11th, particularly his counter-investigation into the Pentagon incident:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrZ14NRbT-s

I will return to this. It's... surprising. If you understand English, you'll discover:

- The day before, September 10, 2001, Rumsfeld had said in a televised interview, which later disappeared quickly, that they had lost track of $2.3 trillion in Pentagon spending ("2.3 trillions dollars!!!"). Then Ventura explains that the computers containing data on these movements were... in the wing of the Pentagon that would be completely destroyed the next day!

- He finds a young woman who worked at the Pentagon on the day of the attack and was ten meters from where the official report places the impact point of a hijacked Boeing 757. She says she experienced the event as "an explosion." ****

témoin

She, carrying her daughter on her shoulders, managed to escape the Pentagon through one of the holes created by the explosion.
But she saw no airplane debris or passenger bodies

- An aviation expert (and I confirm this 100%) states that the approach trajectory, as indicated by the black box and arriving at 850 km/h, is incompatible with the aircraft's structural and aerodynamic capabilities. In particular, the ground effect would have prevented it from approaching so close to the ground.

- Ventura puts one of his young assistants, who also flew a Cessna for a few hours and fails repeatedly to hit the building in a flight simulator recreating a 757 environment, at the controls. At such speed, the aircraft proves uncontrollable.

etc...

Facing journalist Elisabeth Levy, militant Zionist

Elisabeth Lévy

46 years old...

The best answer I could give would be to throw my glass!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhyqxXweIU0&feature=related

Want another senior, someone with only a few years left to live, but who, unlike many, wasn't waiting for old age to be courageous? I present Stéphane Hessel, Jewish like Elisabeth Levy (born in 1964, who has never known war—neither 1939–45 nor the Indochina War or the Algerian War—but who knows everything about everything. By the way, I'd bet anything she's never read a single line of the Torah, the Old Testament, and doesn't know that Jericho—the name of Israel’s three-stage intercontinental missile with a range of 4,800 to 11,000 km, carrying thermonuclear weapons—is the name of one of the cities "devoted to destruction" by the Hebrews, meaning where Jews, after a surprise attack, killed men, women, children, elders, and even livestock because this city lay within the Promised Land promised by Yahweh. These Palestinian cities that were the victims of a full-scale genocide, ordered by the God of the Jews.

There have been genocides in human history. History remembers the Nazis' attempt to exterminate the Jews during World War II—the Shoah. How is it that no one ever mentions the methodically planned genocide of the Palestinian people at that time, orchestrated and executed by the Hebrews on orders from their god, recounted in detail in the Old Testament? A phase of history that the current occupants of Israel's land have not forgotten, nor renounced, since they named their first weapon of mass destruction after Jericho.

Stéphane Hessel

Stéphane Hessel, 93 years old, Jewish, originally from Germany (twenty years older than me!)

- It is unbearable that Jews themselves could commit war crimes.

Published by Indigène editions, 1 Impasse Jules Guesde, 38080 Montpellier (editions.indigene@wanadoo.fr), he published a small booklet sold for 3 euros.

Hessel3

A must-read.

Another old man speaking. Hessel evokes the spirit of change that animated those who, during the conflict, formed the "French Resistance." Men and women who, taking great risks, did not hesitate to express their outrage against the Nazi occupiers and those who collaborated with them.

Often, political and human currents need a word to serve as a "battle cry," and Hessel proposes "Resistance." A resistance against lies, collusion between politicians and financial powers, against the destruction of social gains in favor of lawless individuals.

During World War II, "being in the Resistance" meant having courage, fighting for freedom and a certain humanism. This freedom, as Hessel says, is not "that of the fox in the henhouse."

Today, one can claim to be "ecologist," "green," "liberal," "left-wing," "right-wing," "centrist." If you're among those who feel the world isn't progressing well and that deep changes are needed, then here is the label you must now adopt:

You are a Resister

In his booklet, a gem: Every Friday, Israeli authorities face marches of citizens who go, without throwing stones or using force, to the Western Wall to protest.

Israeli authorities have labeled these marches

Non-violent terrorism

And Hessel concludes: "You have to be Israeli to call non-violence terrorism."

No wonder Heller, whose father was a Jew who emigrated from Germany before World War II, is labeled an anti-Semite by French Jewish organizations?

A quote from Elisabeth Lévy:

- Whoever is not with me is against freedom.

This small booklet, already sold over 600,000 copies (shattering the record of the last Goncourt), has found an astonishing echo in the Anglophone media sphere

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/the-little-red-book-that-swept-france-2174676.html****

French translation of this article

A book selling 600,000 copies in three months. The Web talks about it, but not the "Big Press." But what is the "Big Press"? Who are they?

They are Elisabeth Lévy, Philippe Vals, Bernard Koutchner, Bernard Henri Lévy. The list goes on and on. Yet what does this small manifesto of courageous Stéphane Hessel show us?

That Judaism and humanism are not incompatible

In passing, I'd like to direct you to a manifesto recently circulated by young people from Gaza. Do you know who sent me this text? A Jew, my friend Richard, whose family was expelled from Algeria at the end of the war of the same name, whose ancestors had lived in the country two thousand years earlier, even before the Arab conquest swept across North Africa in the 7th century CE.

And what does "Jewishness" really mean? Does this word even have a real meaning? How can one perceive oneself as a chosen people, selected by a suburban god, when we know that the universe contains a hundred million billion planets hosting intelligent life?

Let me tell you a story that will make you smile. Last October, I was attending an international MHD conference in Jeju, South Korea. There were four Iranians present. You know that at conferences, participants wear large badges around their necks so they can be read from a distance. Within just a few hours, these four individuals caused an immediate shift among the Anglo-Saxons, who had been turning their backs on them. But who were these four people?

First, two young men who had never left their country. Two elegant individuals in every way—humorous, open-minded, remarkably intelligent. Let's say they were 25 and 26 years old. Two young researchers who claimed to be Muslim but rejected the dictates of the Prophet, disregarded dietary and dress codes.

The other two were more stereotypical: a man with a black beard as dark as ink, which almost consumed his face; a woman wearing an Islamic headscarf that nearly reached her ankles. But note this: she was one of the rare female researchers attending to present her work. Let us acknowledge this fairness toward Iranian Islamists. While in Yemen women are confined, in Iran, although women are subject to dress codes, their doors to schools and universities remain wide open.

Now comes the amusing anecdote. As the young woman began her presentation, she said these words:

- In the name of Allah ....

Immediately, the Israeli researchers present left the room. The others were momentarily stunned. Should we, in the future, discourage religious expressions at physics conferences?

I’ll likely attend another such conference in 2011. And I know one thing: when I start my talk—just like my 2010 recording—I will begin with these words:

- In the name of Santa Claus ....

Well, that’s a trend worth launching, worthy of the Circle of Disappeared Scientists. If, during a session, all researchers did the same, I wager our dear lady would eventually drop it.

Here’s an interview with a young French woman who is not of Maghrebi origin. She walks the streets wearing a full veil, emphasizing that her choice was not imposed by her husband—who, in fact, is against it!

full veil

The interview with this woman, victim of a "religious insult"

Note the final sentence:

- If the law passes, either I won’t leave my home anymore, or I’ll move to Saudi Arabia, where laws are made for women like me, and where I can live exactly as I wish—like a woman of the Prophet.

If she decides to leave, I’ll contribute to any fundraising effort to cover her travel. Personally, I believe we don’t live in a Christian state but in a secular one. While advocating religious tolerance, I oppose all ostentatious displays of religious affiliation. Stars of David, Christian crosses: keep them in public places, around your necks—but under your shirts. Kippot: at the synagogue. Religions have always been magnificent sources of trouble and generators of violence. If your memory fails you, visit the Tower of Constance in Aigues-Mortes, where for decades Protestant women who refused Mass and religious icons—crosses—were imprisoned. Tens of thousands were killed over this schism within Christianity. Marie Durand was locked in that tower at age 18 and only released 38 years later.

Even during the "Age of Enlightenment," the young Chevalier de La Barre (a street in Montmartre bears his name) was condemned to endure ordinary and extraordinary torture, to have his hand and tongue cut off, to be decapitated and burned—with a copy of Voltaire’s Philosophical Dictionary nailed to his chest. This sentence for blasphemy was carried out on July 1, 1766, in Abbeville by five executioners specially dispatched from Paris (including the executioner Sanson, who would sever his head).

His crime: possessing at home an illegal book—Voltaire’s Philosophical Dictionary—and some "licentious, erotic magazines." He was also falsely accused—without evidence, based on perjured testimony—of having slashed a wooden statue of Christ crucified. The 1666 law, still in force, punished blasphemy with death (...).

This happened, in our beloved France, less than two and a half centuries ago.

Regarding this "social phenomenon" represented by ostentatious religious clothing, there’s an answer people rarely consider. Here it is:

semi-full veil

It’s the "semi-full veil" with a mini-skirt, stiletto heels. Why not, perhaps, Dior tights and fishnet stockings? I’d love to see such a demonstration in a major Parisian avenue, with hundreds of women dressed this way. Would they be labeled "religious insults"?

For greater decency, women, walk masked, gloved, clad in black tights as dark as ink—the color of the Prophet’s women. With dark sunglasses, you’ll reach the ultimate goal: not a single inch of your anatomy visible.

full veil 3

If one day the Republic’s laws are amended to allow wearing the full veil or niqab, why not adopt hotel rat costumes? Would such behavior then be considered a "religious insult"?

Citizens of the world don’t realize how many tools are available to resist. If the law allows driving masked, then raid carnival shops, wear masks of political figures. Organize carnival parades, since today our political life is nothing but a lamentable pantomime.

carnival metro

Let the streets fill with Ségolène Royal, Sarkozy, Strauss-Kahn. Dare to show them who they resemble. Wear kippot adorned with blinking lights, bishop’s tiaras worthy of Fellini’s Roma, stroll in clerical robes, parade a golden-plated papier-mâché calf, carry banners saying: "We love money!" "Retirement at eighty!" Hand out chocolate atomic bombs to passersby.

I suggest slogans in Latin:

IS FECIT CUI PRODEST

to completely confuse security forces. Reclaim old slogans dear to Ferdinand Lop:

WEDNESDAY IS MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE!

LET’S EXTEND BOULEVARD SAINT-MICHEL ALL THE WAY TO THE SEA

The real world grows more unbearable each day—bring surrealism into the streets. Expose the absurd. Adorn yourselves with imaginary decorations. Remember Coluche on Droit de Réponse, when Polac, facing former veterans of the 1914–18 war, opened a box filled with medals and said:

- You want decorations? Take them!

Imagine the most delirious uniforms. Declare, like Pierre Dac, that you are

Let me share another anecdote. During World War II, France was occupied and under the Vichy regime. General Pétain, senile and feeble-minded, the victor of Verdun, who had spent his entire career at the War College without ever firing a shot, had become the symbol of a nation saved from chaos. One day, the editor-in-chief of a major newspaper (&&& a reader will clarify which one) summoned a journalist to his office.

- My dear, we’re the laughingstock of all France.

- How so, sir?

- Look at the caption on the front-page photo!

- Yes... I don’t see it, sir...

- What? You don’t see it!? Read the caption you wrote, for heaven’s sake!

- Yes, sir. We see the Marshal sitting in his armchair, reading a newspaper. Next to him, his wife...

- But read it out loud, for God’s sake!

- I... I’m reading, sir. It says: "Marshal Pétain reads and the Maréchale Pétain sews." I... I don’t see it...

- What do you mean, you don’t see it? Do you know what the competition read, what all of France was gossiping about?

- No, sir.

- Finally: "Marshal Pétain reads and the Maréchale farts!"

- Oh my God, sir! I didn’t realize...

Against dullness, fundamentalism, the fascism of thought: an irresistible, massive weapon:

Laughter

But let’s return to this video interview with Helen Thomas. She was not only a member but also president of the group of journalists accredited to the White House. Here, in the Oval Office:

Thomas Kennedy

On the question of whether a Middle Eastern country possesses nuclear weapons, she clarifies that the President is not supposed to speculate—he is supposed to know. But for an American President, not only is the question inappropriate, but any investigation into it would be as well—and would face a categorical refusal from the State of Israel. Should the U.S. initiate such an inquiry, it would trigger a serious, unprecedented crisis between these two closely linked nations.

The journalist then asks Helen Thomas whether Obama’s election represented a real change regarding the Middle East and the policy pursued by his predecessor, George Bush. She replies that all previous presidents supported Israel.

After mentioning Obama’s speech in Cairo on June 4, 2009, where he called for halting Israeli expansion into Palestinian territories, Helen Thomas emphasizes that nothing came of it.

Obama Israel

"He chose the easiest path, letting the Israelis do as they please. The Palestinians have no chance of being heard."

When Ben-Gurion delivered his 1948 speech announcing the birth of the State of Israel in a unilateral decision, it was nighttime in the United States. President Truman did something extraordinary: he got up at 3 a.m. to declare that the U.S. recognized the new state—and thus forced the UN to accept the fait accompli.

She discusses how U.S.-Israel relations have evolved in a way that Palestinian interests have simply been discarded—despite a report prepared by a Nixon envoy.

Helen recalls former U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s declaration, who even traveled to Israel and met with Hamas:

Carter statement

She reminds us that President Bush had said that after democratic elections were held in Palestine, the U.S. would respect the outcome. But Hamas won those elections.

"... Bush immediately imposed a blockade and closed the borders"

"... Yes, Carter was the president who made real efforts—by facilitating the Camp David Accords in 1978 with Anwar el-Sadat and Menachem Begin..."

Camp David

"We don’t negotiate with terrorists." (Menachem Begin)

Begin’s commitments to limit settlement expansion were obviously not kept

As for Sadat, a practicing and tolerant Muslim, he quickly released the Ayatollahs that Nasser had imprisoned. They immediately issued a fatwa against him, which led to his assassination three years after the Camp David Accords, on October 6, 1981

Helen states that American policy is pro-Israeli, and that if a vote were held in Congress, there would never be more than four or five members opposing this policy.

- But they have a lot of power...

- Who holds such power?

Obama under pressure

Is Obama under pressure?

Helen believes Obama has completely abandoned any idea of changing anything in the Middle East or Israel, and hasn’t even tried, preferring to focus on other concerns. She even says Obama would like to forget that the Middle East exists...

At the end of this recorded interview, Helen Thomas says that if she ever has the chance to face Obama again, she will ask him the same question: "Does a Middle Eastern state possess nuclear weapons?" But in contrast to the final image, the interviewer confirms that this journalist will never have the opportunity to ask that question again. Indeed, following her statements, her accreditation was simply and completely revoked.

So understand that American journalists accredited to the White House can meet the U.S. President—provided they refrain from asking bad questions.

Nearly 4,000 internet users connect daily to my site to read reports (which you tell me you greatly appreciate, based on your numerous messages), which I provide free of charge and which require considerable work.

We urgently need 15,000 euros to continue our UFO-science projects.

To achieve this, we ask for your help. We urgently need 5,000 euros to restart the print edition of the Lanturlu albums and prevent this collection from disappearing entirely (I remind you that 30 albums are available for free download on the Savoir sans Frontières website).

To this end, I ask you: If these purchases remain at such a low level (one book per day!), I will consider putting my site on hold until these funds are raised.
