Our microdrone hunter, Christophe Tardy, an engineer, has discovered new achievements. Since these are the work of people in the private sector, one might wonder how far American military efforts are in this field.

It features a flying dragonfly-like device, 9 cm in wingspan and weighing 3.5 grams, flapping its wings at 8 hertz, powered by a motor running on 1.5 volts.

When I was twelve, we built flapping-wing aircraft using balsa wood, Japanese paper, and "piano wire." The diagram below shows the construction method. For propulsion: use an elastic band. Include a few beads to serve as bearings.
