We went to listen to the conference of Richard Gage, creator of a group of architects demanding an investigation, a move that immediately cost him his job in the United States. A technical conference in English, at the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve, attended by some 300 spectators (but no journalists). I noted the age and quality of the audience members, who included a number of academics and engineers.

I noted several technical details in this presentation, which I had not previously known about. It is known that we have photographs of heavy beams, cut cleanly at 45°, according to a technique that is classic in controlled demolition. But I confess that the documents produced by Gage increasingly support this dizzying theory, which I had difficulty accepting. First, the appearance of the cloud forming at the top of the towers, which irresistibly evokes an explosion. It is recalled that beam fragments were projected over great distances.

In this mushroom, there is more than just pulverized concrete. One can see hundreds of heavy beams that will be projected over great distances from the site of the building's collapse, quickly removed by the FEMA, the American "Civil Protection", responsible for cleaning the site. The reconstruction of the trajectories of these beams shows that they were subjected to a violent centrifugal impulse that could only have been caused by an explosive.

It will immediately be noticed that the modes of collapse of the twin towers and of building No. 7 are very different. For specialists, the fall of building No. 7 is typical of a classic controlled demolition. Its structure is a "cantilever", meaning that the building's skeleton, in the form of powerful beams, fills the entire volume. To bring it down, it was necessary to perform hundreds of carefully chosen and controlled cuts, timed, throughout the building. The building then collapses "straight into its boots". Given the services that populated this administrative building (the CIA had its archives there), one can think that it was easier to equip it, discreetly. A job requiring months of preparation, absolutely impossible to improvise in a few hours.

For the twin towers, it was less obvious. They have three components. The central part is a "cantilever", a set of forty-seven vertical beams, braced, between which run the elevators and the stairs, plus a large number of "service" stairs and freight elevators. The public, the office users, do not have access to a large part of this structure, which service "maintenance and surveillance" can easily approach. Let us recall that these same services were under the direction of the ... own brother of George Bush, which represents a most enormous coincidence.

It was, however, more difficult to reach the second load-bearing structure of the two buildings, which takes the form of an external prismatic cage, composed of welded beams. For the two towers to collapse, that is, for the hundred or so floors to pile up on top of each other, it was necessary to simultaneously pulverize the central elements, the backbone of the buildings, and the peripheral structures. The solution is the explosion of very strong charges placed in the central part, which blow out the peripheral elements. The violence (necessary) of such successive explosions, which were perfectly perceived by many witnesses, explains why practically nothing was found of what the building contained, neither furniture elements nor significant fragments of human bodies. In passing, the very high pressure and temperature transformed the concrete into a mass of dust of the size of a thousandth of a millimeter.

Only a violent explosion can turn concrete into such a mass of microscopic dust

During Richard Cage's conference, in a lecture hall at the Catholic University of Louvain la Neuve, a police officer, present, asked how it would be possible to restart an investigation after all these years. In fact, there is a lot that remains. Many people have kept samples of this dust, which can still be found on site, where the cleaning has not been sufficiently thorough. The examination of these dusts, both under the microscope and by spectroscopy, is then rich in lessons.

What is particularly intriguing is to find in these dusts chemical components that represent the signature of a dangerous explosive: Thermite or Thermit, as the Anglo-Saxons call it. It is simply a mixture of aluminum and iron oxide. Some photos even show fragments of ... thermite that did not react, recognizable by their brick-red color, simply blown by the explosion of nearby charges. Chemical analysis confirms this. The process is as old as Herod (it was discovered in 1893), but has always been taught in engineering schools under the name of "aluminothermy". It results from the violent, extremely exothermic affinity of aluminum for the oxygen present in different oxides, such as simple iron oxide, according to the reaction:

Fe2O3 + 2 Al → 2Fe + Al 2O33

Before it was used in the destruction of buildings with steel frames, it was used to cut large elements during the dismantling of ships. A charge of thermite is indeed very effective for cutting the propeller shaft of a liner, which can exceed 50 cm in diameter, difficult to attack with a saw.

Another application of aluminothermy: welding railway tracks end to end.

The signature of the reaction is the aluminum oxide as well as an additive: sulfur. What is dangerous is the temperature reached: 2,200 degrees! With aluminothermy, all steels are melted. Iron melts at 1800°, the steel of the towers, with a low carbon content, around 1500°. It is difficult to reach a thousand degrees when kerosene burns in a confined space like a tunnel. Regarding this limitation of the temperature of kerosene combustion, think of a jet engine. If the combustion temperature of kerosene exceeded that of steel, the design of such engines would simply be ... impossible. Kerosene is volatile. When the planes hit the twin towers, the fuel from the planes burned within seconds. The heat released caused a powerful updraft. The color of the flame: orange-yellow, "sign" of its temperature.

Thermite does not need an oxygen supply for the reaction to occur. At the limit, this mixture can burn underwater! The speed of the reaction depends on the intimacy of the mixture made, on its granularity. Aluminothermy can only be implemented with a mixture of aluminum and oxides in the form of very fine particles, with a diameter of the order of a thousandth of a millimeter. In the video above, the reaction propagates by thermal conduction, from one to the next. It is therefore not an explosive, which "detonates", where the chemical reaction spreads in the solid medium with a shock wave, whose speed can exceed 8 km/s. In an explosion, a shock wave forms, which propagates by compressing the medium (solid). Downstream of this compression, the temperature reaches "the ignition temperature" (which is reached without the video above by burning magnesium in the air). The chemical reaction makes this shock wave, this detonation wave, "self-propelled". There is a military thermite where the grains are mixed with a binder that makes this mixture explosive. Analyses of debris seem to indicate that this type of product could have been used.

This question is the subject of heated debates in forums, such as those of the "Skeptics", and it is not surprising to see their representatives defending the official thesis with tooth and nail, demanding tangible evidence, and often displaying a lack of knowledge in the field of solid chemistry.

I have simply pointed out one of the countless elements that show that the destruction of the twin towers, and of the 7th tower, could not be the result of "a simple attack carried out by a handful of terrorists". But the step to take is terrible. Few people accept to cross this Rubicon of horror. Three thousand men and women, Americans, were killed in cold blood, in a premeditated manner. It is the greatest crime in the history of the world, in such a short time. An operation that was very carefully prepared by monsters. It goes much further than the assassination of a president, like Kennedy, or of a peace activist, like the pastor Luther King. In these two cases, two nuisances were eliminated.

The massacre of September 11 is of another nature.

Some claim that the aircraft that hit the towers were not identical to civilian aircraft. And people exclaim: "But then, what would have happened to the passengers and crew of these aircraft?" Do you believe that people capable of programming the murder of three thousand people would hesitate to make hundreds of passengers disappear?

Where, how? For example, on the ground, in a place where the planes would have been diverted. There are vast areas in the United States where aircraft maintenance is carried out, both for commercial and military aircraft, and which are real sanctuaries. There are companies, based in the United States, that have specialized in this kind of work. These companies, declared military grounds, are real states within the state. It is there that the identical, remote-controlled copies of these commercial airplanes could have been prepared.

Another question arises: "How come no one, so far, has spoken, any of those who were involved in this monstrous plot?" I don't have a ready answer to that. But there are other secrets that have persisted in the USA for more than half a century. Moreover, what is the characteristic time for the emergence of a lie in history? Seven small years? Come on! Isn't it rather on the order of ... half a century? How much time has passed before the French learned, from the mouth of the High Commissioner of France in Algeria, Delouvrier, that de Gaulle was paying the FLN to prevent it from blowing up the Algerian gas pipeline ? Money with which members of this national liberation army bought beautiful destinies to kill French soldiers? Who else has heard and remembered this revelation, lost in the usual journalistic cacophony?

A sixth homeless person died of cold in the streets of Paris. Of cold? No: of despair.

I have seen images of America devastated by this real estate crisis. I have not done a report on it, but the pattern is simple. There are variable rate loans. There is even this nonsense in which some have already fallen: "zero percent loans". Everything is done in the bank to make people take balloons for lanterns. Look at the loan advertisements, incessant, on the web? You need so much, right away without ... and only so much per month. And at the end of the road, how much will you have paid? It is not the bank that will tell you.

Imagine the USA twenty years ago:

- Why wait? You will get rich, earn more, it is certain. Bet on your future. Become the owner of your home, without personal contribution, without investigation, by only repaying so much per month.

All this with this damn variable rate system, indexed on the rate set by "the central bank". Because the credit house does not have the money it lends to the buyer of the property. It borrows from another bank which, in turn, ... and it ends up in a "central" organization that sets, itself, its interest rate. If it raises it, it works like dominoes. Everything downstream also rises. And the buyer no longer has so many dollars per month to pay, but double, triple...

Does the lending organization take any risks? No, it thinks. It makes the borrower sign a "mortgage guarantee on the property". If the borrower can no longer pay, after a few months his property, his house, will be auctioned and the lending organization will recover its investment. The defaulting borrower will be, himself, simply thrown out on the street.

The more time passes, the less risk the lending organization takes, it thinks, since the monthly payments will have already recovered, for example, a third of the house's value. Then, if at the time of the auction it loses a third of its value, it will still come out ahead. But what if the resale price of the house falls below half? It would lose money.

Some credit houses sensed the bad deal coming and tried to get rid of these "rotten" loans. This time, they had to trick not the borrower but another lender by telling him:

- It's a good deal. See: we had loaned money with 2% interest, now the income is at six. You gain and you risk nothing since, anyway, you can always use the mortgage guarantee....

But the lender could have been suspicious of such a juicy offer and thought "and if there was a problem somewhere?". Then the solution, to get rid of this rotten apple, was to hide it in a basket containing other, healthier apples. Risk-free investments yield little. The investments that yield are risky ones (the "Venture Capital"). A small mix, like in the "SICAV". It is called "securitizing the loan", hiding it under a pile of apparently harmless papers. After all, it's a question of credulity and greed.

But this real estate bubble finally burst, just like all sorts of "bubbles", "financial products" built on the same model, the same scheme. Many property buyers were unable to pay their installments. They were evicted and their houses were auctioned. But in doing so, they disturbed the real estate market. Many houses put up for sale at low prices created competition. The price of houses started to fall. Entire neighborhoods that had been populated with closed houses saw their real estate value drop. Inevitable consequence: construction is no longer seen as a safe investment with a guarantee that the building's price will increase over time. In the USA, many houses are made of wood, not built to last. Due to lack of maintenance, many have become ruins, unsellable. Today, homeowners put houses up for sale for ... a symbolic dollar. In fact, they sell the land, which is also worthless, in a neighborhood that has become a ruin, a wasteland, to get rid of the property tax, which still runs, based on so much per square meter, even if that square meter is worth ten cents.

I have seen videos showing streets filled with houses with doors and windows blocked by concrete blocks (to prevent squatters, the homeless, from moving in).

Worse still, going back further, people realized that all of this was based on ... wind, on "economic void", that the whole "system" was based on ... nothing. Read my comic strip The Economicon, to start understanding something.

I will try to complete it with these new aspects (the album is from 1983). But one can try to give an image. Money is a carrier of something, like blood, which carries oxygen and nutrients, eliminates waste. When a living being grows, it needs a larger mass of blood. Otherwise "the exchanges no longer happen".

You can imagine living beings that grow differently, where some have "too much blood", more money than their immediate needs. The first idea would be to store this excess blood somewhere. Then, the second, to lend it "by transfusion", with interest, to someone who wants to "develop", "grow".

Imagine a living being that suddenly grows. It will absolutely need to fill its veins, its arteries with a fluid, otherwise it will suffer a complete collapse, see its "blood pressure collapse". Limiting ourselves to the transport of oxygen by red blood cells and their content in different types of cells. Without them, this blood ceases to be functional. In the 19th century, many surgeons were confronted with deaths from hemorrhage, loss of blood, then they thought that there was still enough hemoglobin in the remaining blood mass to ensure the transport of oxygen. But the patient died because his heart was pumping ... empty. The blood pressure collapsed. The pressure created by the heart was no longer sufficient to ensure the circulation of blood by pumping. It then occurred to them to add to the blood a mixture of water and sodium chloride, to restore the blood pressure and allow the heart to function.

Imagine that instead of losing blood, a person grows. It will need a larger blood mass to continue to "function". One can then transfuse blood or what is nothing more than water, added with salt.

In the loan system, the banker "cuts his liquidity" with ... water, with wind, it doesn't matter what name you give to this operation. It turns out that "it works", for a certain time. Today we have reached the point where the money in circulation, in the form of loans*, is ten times more important than the amount of deposits or guarantees of the loans (in fact, even more, I think). Imagine a blood bank that transfuses more water than blood. It makes a profit, since these loans are subject to interest. But with the years passing and the worsening related to the introduction of computerization and a new kind of "virtual money", electronic, things have worsened. The system has become much more unstable, like a ship where the cargo is no longer secured. In the past, to transfer funds, it was sometimes necessary to cross borders with suitcases of bills. Today, a click on a mouse allows sending billions of anything from one end of the planet to the other.

"Money" has changed its nature. At the beginning, it was "coin and coin", concrete objects: gold or silver. Replace it with a precious, incompressible fluid: mercury. After a time, the need "for liquidity" will be felt. This "dense" money will lack flexibility and fluidity. If we try an image (evoked in The Economicon in the form of a fluid: the Flouz), it is not another incompressible liquid of lower value that is added to the mercury, but a gas, compressible.

At first, it is no longer mercury, but "mercury with bubbles". Then it is 50% mercury and 50% air. Then an emulsion of fine droplets of mercury carried by a gaseous flow. The pressure of the medium, its "vital force" is no longer that of the mercury but that of the gas. We have moved to a fiduciary system. Fidus in Latin means trust.

It is a system that is maintained only by the trust placed in this carrier symbol, this gas. One could assimilate this trust to a temperature. A hot gas maintains its pressure. Imagine a pneumatic machine, operating with compressed air at normal temperature. Imagine a "cold snap" that causes this air to lose its temperature to the point of liquefying, at -196°. The tubes of our pneumatic machine would be ... almost empty, and it would simply stop working.

In the current crisis, we are there. The worst that can happen to an economic system like ours, a "liberal" system, the "laissez-faire", is a crisis of trust in ... everything, in the future, in growth, this forward rush that until now was the carrot that allowed this system to move forward. Our economy is populated with illusions.

Trust Approach

Industries function in symbiosis with the banking system. But why borrow, seek to develop, if suddenly you doubt you can succeed and repay the loan? Wouldn't it be better to close unproductive sectors and take the initiative? But in that case, you would throw masses of people out of work. The number of consumers would decrease. Therefore, companies would make less profit, therefore... vicious circle.

The liberal system took risks by recklessly increasing the number of "non-productive" and "non-consumers," those who are unable to pay any tax. It took risks by accepting the poverty and the discomfort of an increasing fraction of its population, in favor of a class of the wealthy, the born, the well-fed. It took risks by accepting that this group of discarded people could no longer access education, thus preventing them from increasing their productivity.

Where is the solution? Could we consider raising the productivity of individuals by educating them? Expensive and slow. Could we make them consumers by paying them more? Could we reduce their burdens by increasing those of those who, precisely, benefit the most from this system? Theoretically, yes. But wisdom is not of this world. The profit-driven frenzy will blind the wealthy until social disorders spread like oil. And everything cannot be solved with a pressure washer or a taser, by ministers lowering the age of criminal responsibility to 12 years, parading in expensive designer clothes and wearing 16,000 euro rings.

Despair is everywhere, spreading like oil, in all the disadvantaged layers of the planetary society. Indian farmers commit suicide, facing an existence without a future, which they can no longer bear, tormented by usurers who think their dominant position is the result of their good karma, while for the other, it's the opposite. It's normal, what. I have an old friend who is the same age as me, so he is retired. His wife takes care of libraries in Palestine. She goes there four times a year, and cannot be accused of any kind of activism, either in favor of a "side," or the other. Both of them have always, very young, been sensitive to human misery. When I met them, they were "good Christians." I have never met people more human than these two.

He and I have been friends for 34 years. We realized it when we met again recently in Brussels. For a man like me, whose family has become de facto non-existent, friendship is a precious thing for me. He told me:

In September I was at an international MHD conference in Vilnius, Lithuania. I had been invited by the organizers as a pioneer of the discipline and I went there at my own expense. I presented three communications, one of them in a hall, in front of 300 congress participants gathered in this luxurious congress center.

There was an incident, right in the middle of the conference. I will tell about it in a future issue of the magazine Science and Unexplained, the only magazine, in fact, where such facts can be mentioned, in an open context of contradictory debate. It's true, and the public exchanges I had during this congress showed it: in the field of plasma physics and MHD I still have an international, undisputed specialist status. You cannot revive a discipline that has been neglected for thirty years. How do you want me to stimulate research when I already have a hard time ... transporting myself? *"

They then add, bewildered:

• "But couldn't you write a book, leave your knowledge within reach of the next generation?"

What for? Does the public realize that MHD is 100% militarized? Hypervelocity torpedoes, "railguns" (a cannon where the speed of the projectile is obtained by electromagnetic forces), projects of miniaturizable pure fusion bombs, hypersonic airplanes. But the climax of the presentation was the "MHD bullet," presented by another American, just as cheerful and outdated. The principle is that of "flux compression."
