Influenza A: What do the vaccines actually contain?

On the European Union side

October 5, 2009

It’s now confirmed that the United States is enacting laws that shield pharmaceutical companies from any potential administrative or criminal prosecution regarding any harmful health effects stemming from this massive vaccination campaign. Meanwhile, there are already reports across the Atlantic about significant failures related to initial attempts at mass vaccination (these reports need to be verified).

A glance at the EU website reveals that the official responsible for health issues is stepping up the pressure… but I didn’t manage to note down the URL of that page. Hopefully someone else will do it for us.

Not only does this woman say nothing about how the H1N1 flu is progressing in the Southern Hemisphere, but she merely cites the number of infected people and deaths within the 29 EU member states.

- 55,000 people infected… 145 deaths already…

Everything seems designed to alarm the public and prompt them to rush to get vaccinated. Yet we must remember that seasonal flu kills 500,000 people worldwide each year. Given that those affected have a one-in-a-thousand chance of dying, that means five million people across all countries contract seasonal flu every year.

Thus, these figures seem more like misinformation than genuine information. We need statistics—specifically, the number of people infected with seasonal flu during autumn and winter months, as well as the monthly death toll. Only then can we compare these numbers to the “devastating effects” of H1N1; raw numbers alone aren’t meaningful.

Recall, months ago:

- First confirmation of someone being infected with H1N1 virus in such-and-such region…

- A 26-year-old man, seemingly healthy, died yesterday…

etc…

How come no “devastating effects of this pandemic” have been observed in Southern Hemisphere countries??

What lies behind this obsessive desire to vaccinate everyone urgently? Is it simply a bid for profit, or something else? What exactly is being attempted through this mass vaccination campaign? Is this the first step toward a global government, a New World Order where national governments must follow directives “coming from above”? And who determines those directives? How can we accept that the WHO director announced emphatically that “the pandemic had entered Phase 6” without providing any supporting figures or mentioning that the pandemic was actually quite mild and affecting only residents of the Southern Hemisphere? Re-read this bewildered email sent by a resident of Perth, Australia, who’s astonished by the hysteria gripping Northern Hemisphere nations.

What’s in this damned vaccine? Additives or… something else? Who’s pulling the strings in this effort to align all these countries like troops at attention?

If you read September’s issue of Science et Vie magazine, you’ll find a lengthy article authored by Caroline Tourbe on influenza, titled:

Influenza A: What do the vaccines actually contain?

First off, all human influenza viruses belong to type A. Read our article on this topic. There are three types of influenza: A, B, and C; only type A affects humans and animals significantly. Thus, this title is poorly chosen. The article was written by an incompetent journalist who didn’t thoroughly research her subject—or she’s simply acting as a mouthpiece for pharmaceutical lobbies. On page 72 there’s a photo of Daniel Florent. Read what’s said about him:

Daniel Floret

Daniel Floret, president of the Technical Committee on Vaccination

Excerpt from Science et Vie, page 72:

Why so many and so quickly? The urgency is medically justified, since this is an unprecedented virus; A(H1N1) spreads rapidly among populations lacking immunity against it.

(Nonsense: see our article on various influenza virus strains.)

Under such circumstances, developing and distributing a vaccine becomes urgent—even though after the Southern Hemisphere winter, A(H1N1) no longer seems to be the deadly killer initially feared.

Transparency regarding conflicts of interest

The challenge is drawing a clear line between public health interests—that is, everything serving the common good—and private interests, so that everyone can grasp the real stakes involved and form their own opinions.

Regarding influenza vaccination, I make a concrete proposal: I want Ms. Daniel FLORET and Dr. Robert COHEN—leading voices in vaccination matters, highly respected by doctors and pediatricians alike (Mr. FLORET also heads the Technical Committee on Vaccination)—to officially declare any conflicts of interest, as mandated by Article 26 of the March 4, 2002 Health Democracy Law.

I emphasize I know neither of these doctors personally; I only know their statements and writings on vaccination. They’re ardent and very active advocates of mass vaccination against pandemic H1N1 flu and vaccination in general, regardless of vaccine type or epidemiological context.

I’m not bringing this up randomly; recently I received an invitation to a “GSK Vaccinology Update Day” organized by GlaxoSmithKline, one of the labs producing a pandemic flu vaccine called Pandemrix. Scheduled for September 25 at Paris’s Pullman Hotel, Ms. COHEN and Mr. FLORET are listed as key speakers.

Dr. CMT, September 7, 2009

The article’s conclusion is frankly alarming; it suggests citizens are being treated like lab rats or livestock. Here’s a quote:

One thing is certain: even if the usefulness of these new adjuvants wasn’t proven during this pandemic (...), it nonetheless provided a great opportunity for industry players, explains Bertrand Bellier, vaccine specialist at the Therapeutic Biology Lab of Immune Diseases at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital Group. Once they obtain initial market authorization for a broad population, labs can subsequently use these adjuvants in other vaccines.

Recently we found this working document on the EU website: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=SEC:2009:1191:FIN:EN:DOC

“Lex” in Latin means law; thus this is a draft legislative document modeled after recent U.S. legislation, possibly copied verbatim. It’s in English, yet… Try this experiment: enter that same URL into your browser, replacing “EN” with “FR” to access the French version:

http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=SEC:2009:1191:FIN:FR:DOC

Even though all EU working documents must be systematically translated into all 22 member languages (the EU employs a legion of translators), you’ll encounter this message:

French version nonexistent

Hence we thought it useful to reproduce the French translation of:

3.5 Specific legal provisions for the distribution by Member States

Generally speaking, marketing authorization holders bear responsibility for their products’ use as long as such use complies with the terms of the marketing authorization.

Member States may temporarily authorize distribution of an unapproved medicinal product in response to suspected or confirmed spread of pathogens.

This includes pandemic situations, such as the 2009 Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic.

In such cases, marketing authorization holders, manufacturers, and healthcare professionals are exempt from civil or administrative liability for any consequences arising from use of a vaccine when such use is recommended or required by a competent authority in response to the pandemic situation. This also applies when use of an approved medicinal product, such as antiviral drugs or vaccines, exceeds authorized conditions (e.g., indications, age groups). These provisions apply regardless of whether national or EU-level authorization has been granted.
