Are there any visible signs of attempts to test climate weapons? September 23, 2002; repeated on September 29, 2002. Animation 2
The following video, a 316 KB animated GIF, shows a different phenomenon. It depicts the formation of a cloud of enormous size, relative to planetary scales, in the northwest part of China. The darkening of the ground should allow meteorologists to estimate its thickness. At first glance, these phenomena seem to occur far from any significant landforms and in remote regions (Xinjiang?). It seems that this cloud formation occurs at high altitudes. Comments from experienced meteorologists would be welcome. Perhaps this is a more localized heating effect—essentially “opening a window” in the ionosphere—which causes air to rise rapidly into the upper atmosphere, where moist air cools down and condenses into clouds. This could create a kind of artificial mega-cumulonimbus cloud, possibly more powerful than anything nature can produce on its own.

Under such large cloud formations, with such significant darkening beneath them, extremely violent natural phenomena can occur: tornadoes (overland), waterspouts (over oceans). Americans know all too well about these phenomena. A few years ago, the most powerful tornado ever recorded had a base diameter of 1,500 meters. It generated winds of 450 km/h, killed 45 people, and caused $2 billion in damages. Another tornado damaged 40,000 vehicles. Any country capable of creating artificial tornadoes would possess destructive power comparable to that of nuclear weapons… but without any radioactivity.
