Isis, after reconstructing with clay the penis of her brother Osiris—which had been cut into pieces by his other brother, Seth—the penis that was lost when a fish ate it after Seth threw the anatomical pieces into the Nile—appears in the form of a bird carrying the “knot of life.” Translation of the text above Osiris’s head:

- Ve, I’m getting hard...

The Vire-Pierre at anchor in Sanary harbor

(Personally, I would have thought it was the Pitalug II.)

And somewhere there are engineers helping others fly faster than sound. But where are the engineers helping those who must live on the ground?

November 2006: I had the garden redesigned.

I have lovely poplars along the property edge; they send out shoots up to twenty or thirty meters away. One of them had a diameter of 10 cm. The water table is just a few meters below. Pulling it out by hand became impossible, especially with my lower back broken into three pieces, held together only by divine intervention. So I called in a professional, who arrived with something resembling Goldorak. He operates inside a glass cabin with a swivel seat, depending on which tool he controls. His arm also has a telescopic part, allowing him to pull out trees. Then the shredder, visible on the right, does the rest. Later he came with a rotary tiller, and in one hour my land looked like Meunier chocolate. The weeds will grow back quickly.

I recommend this guy; he’s incredibly efficient.

For birds: As last year, feeding balls will be distributed at the first big cold snap. They’ll be tied to low branches of the mulberry plane trees. For nesting, there are plywood nests available inside the cypress trees.

monde_vu_par_americains

Eric Coutou lived in the USA for a long time, as did his father Pierre, an old friend. Surveys have shown how little the average American cares about geography. These people rarely leave their country, which is so vast and varied that they could spend their whole lives traveling without ever truly knowing it. When George W. Bush was elected president, he himself had never left the country. Eric sends us this kind of mental image of the world, as seen by an average American. This view might actually be... quite close to the truth.
