Nanothermite in the dust of the WTC
People may be surprised by the word "thermite," thinking it is a completely new technology, and revolutionary in terms of obtaining high temperatures through a chemical reaction of two solid compounds (aluminum and iron oxide). In fact, it is only the development of a process dating back to the end of the 19th century, called "aluminothermy," which all students and engineers know. When you can accelerate the speed of an exothermic chemical reaction, thanks in particular to additives, you get ... an explosive. This is what you can get by making a mixture of pulverulent compounds, not on a micro scale, but on a nanoscale, and you then get what is called "nano-thermite." A scientifically argued article, published in a peer-reviewed chemistry journal, reports on traces found in the dust collected on the site of the World Trade Center, which support the use of this substance to cause the destruction of the three buildings. The quantities used would represent 10 to 100 tons.

I won't surprise you by saying that my colleagues and I have been part of it for so long that we have given up trying to publish our work on this site. arXiv quickly made a deal with "the established structures". Indeed, the pretext was to avoid any amateur, "weird", "fantastical" person from setting up ... anything. So they tried to limit access to people who were part of "normally constituted" laboratories. In each country, lists were established, constituting as many access filters (in France, the "normal" access goes through the Cnrs filter). This is how we were denied the possibility of registering our mathematical physics work, "because we did not belong to a laboratory". I protested, mentioned my credentials. Nothing worked. There is arXiv, but also Wikipedia, a powerful information and culture tool, unfortunately now largely owned by epistemofripouilles, well-organized. Go see in areas like astrophysics and cosmology. My case was quickly resolved: I was "permanently banned", but "democratically", by a band of anonymous mediocrities.

Benveniste is dead (October 2004): Link. I have lost one of my best friends and a comrade-in-arms. Jacques died a few days after his third heart operation. But he is not dead. They killed him, by ejecting him from his Inserm laboratory in 1995 and forcing him to continue his research under unimaginable conditions, in Algeco sheds installed in the courtyard of Inserm 200 in Clamart. Benveniste, whose health was already very deteriorated (a coronary bypass, then a pacemaker), had to constantly run to find money to pay his collaborators. In the last times he even paid them from his own pocket! This is what France does to people who raise extremely important, real issues. Water, on the physical, chemical and biological level, is a complete mystery. There are discoveries that attract implacable hatred, fierce repression. Bounias is dead from what was done to him after what he discovered in Trans, Provence in 1981. Benveniste gave his life in research that no one wanted. I survived because I knew how to change course in time, before losing my life as well.

When France kills its brightest researchers, like this one, who ruined his health trying to uncover the mysteries of the structure of liquid water and its role in living structures. In December 2004, our friend Michel Schiff died. The newspaper Le Monde published a obituary, written by Claire Meljac, where the work of his, devoted to the tragedy experienced by our friend Jacques Bienveniste, is not mentioned.

Polyhedral version: October 13, 2003. It is possible to present complex transformations, such as that of the Crosscap into the Boy surface, quite simply, via the Steiner Roman surface. Although retired, I am currently finalizing a polyhedral version of the sphere inversion (which becomes "the Inversion of the Cube", a cube being one of the multiple polyhedral representations of the sphere). The Crosscap is a one-sided surface containing an auto-intersection segment bordered by two cusp points. It is possible to transform it into a Boy surface by using an intermediate which is the Steiner Roman surface. Click on the objects to see them in virtual reality. A few years ago, I found a way to go from one to the other using cusp point confluences as well as the inverse operation: the creation of cusp point pairs from an auto-intersection line. But this remains quite delicate to grasp. Therefore, in this dossier the polyhedral version of the transformation, the reader could build the models themselves with cardboard to better understand them. The approach offers two benefits. It first allows transforming a "right" Boy surface into a "left" Boy surface, which can always be useful. It is then an approach for managing quantified, structured spaces like graphs and the illustration (rough) of particles as singularities, with conservation laws illustrated as the conservation of topological invariants. Voices of Israel (The Voices of Israel). A book written by the Israeli journalist-writer Amos Oz, published in 1983 by Calman Lévy (available in used condition). Although referring to statements made 28 years ago, this book is extremely informative on the different mental states prevailing in the country. Amos Oz interviews Israelis of all conditions, from the fundamentalist, only concerned with reading the Torah and the Talmud, to the settlers in the occupied territories. In this book, the Arab presence appears as ghostly. I wrote to the publisher and the author to ask if the book would be reprinted, without getting a response. To avoid violating the editorial rights laws, I have not put the entire book online. Only its fifth chapter, already abundantly reproduced on many other sites. Its content will leave you speechless.
